Time to enter for the 2015/2016 deer contest! Please post in this thread if you would like to participate. I will keep the entry period open this year, but a deer will only count if killed after you have entered the contest. I will determine the number of hunters per team prior to September 1st depending on the number of entries. Hunters entering after this date will be assigned to a team as new people enter.

Rules:
1. The kill must be out of a saddle style stand, any legal weapon is allowed.
2. Whitetail, blacktail and mule deer are permitted.
3. Does are worth 5 points, bucks are worth 5 points + 1 point for each antler point 1 inch or longer. A photo of any questionable points is to be provided.
4. Only 2 deer are allowed per person, one of which may be antlered. So you can enter 1 buck and 1 antlerless deer, or 2 antlerless deer.
5. A photo of the hunter and saddle (either laying on the ground or on the hunter) with the full body of the deer is required to be posted in the official deer contest thread for submission.
6. The contest will end on January 31st, 2016.
7. The team with the most points wins.

All required information is to be posted in the "Official 2015 Deer Contest" Thread.

I am in.....like the changes you made ! Last season I didn't hunt from my ground blinds because I wanted to score some points by using my saddle. September 15th is just around the corner !

Good! This contest will keep you in your saddle!

I'm in. Sounds fun. On the new club I have joined, saddle style (web for me) is all you can use because all trees are small, timber company timber.

What the heck Let me in on this as well! Who knows maybe I can tag a brusier.

What if you kill one in a saddle while sleeping in the backcountry?

Count me in too

Definitely counts. If you're questioning how to take a photo in that situation, if you throw your saddle on the deer and take a photo with your hand as a thumbs up or something we'd take it. The idea behind the rule is to keep people honest, the contest is just for fun.

If you don't have something like this already I'd recommend something really light like this for documenting your backcountry successes

I have that and this little camera mount clip that I can put my phone into to take pics. It is really light and compact and I use the timer feature to take my own pics.
