2018 Team 5 Thread

Congrats to everyone who’s killed one so far. I knocked down a third earlier this week.

Shout out to @WHW - I found the Womack tree and had to swat the deer away like flies to get to the tree I wanted to climb. Just as I prepared to slip up tree, I had a doe come in on a beeline to the feed tree and start eating 25 yards in front of me. I could’ve been doing jumping jacks and she wouldn’t have seen me. Put one through both shoulders with the .444 and was at truck before dark.

For the rest of you fellers who call yourself team 5 members, let’s go! Points are nice, but I want to see you all get some action!

The rut is about 3-4 weeks away at my primary property, and 4-5 weeks away and secondary. I’m getting pretty excited about the sign I’m seeing, moreso than in years past

I got 13 points on the board. I doubt I will get another chance to get a deer down, but you never know... I may get to upgrade. I plan on carrying my bow with me when I hang cameras, and that’s about all the chances I have left.

Good job guys. I’m hunting hard when I get the opportunity to go out. Have a 3 year old and a new 5 month old baby so hunting trips are slim in my life right now

They make pouches big enough to hang youngins from your saddle! Or keep one in front - double as a hand warmer!
 
So whats the secret to hunting this time of year? I have 2.5 months left to bow hunt and all my spots seemed to have dried up from over hunting.

Oh, and hike! That’s the secret to this time of year. The deer have been pressured, you can find hard to reach places where they feel comfy moving around.
 
Finally got one with the saddle. TrophyLine and predator combo. Hit her way back so had to wait overnight. Found her piled up in the edge of a pond. Was by myself and had to hurry and get to church this morning so wasn’t able to get any good pics. This will have to do. Hoping for a buck next weekend!
