2018 Teams

Team 2 - roll call - where are you hunting and when does your season start?
I live in NC but don't really have a place to hunt quite yet - my property is going to need some work. Our opener was this past weekend, but I wasn't out. Will see if I can slip in something but likely have to wait for VA. I lease in VA and I'll have a youth weekend 9/29-9/30 then archery opener is 10/6. Think I saw some Mississippi guys.... Anyone been out yet?

Live and hunt MS. Season is 10/1 - 1/31. Will be in MO for a week during the rut.

Michigan boy here, but I did 4 days in South Dakota looking for a velvet buck... No dice, could have shot a couple of small does, but not worth it. Hopefully I'll be out for early doe season September 22-23, and October 1st looking for a 32 point swamp freak :)

It’s kind of nice having all the back and forth between the teams but if teams wanted to start a thread that’s on them. Just no way to really make it private and keep others from posting in it.
 
Folks part of the fun for me is trash talking with friends. Its all in fun but I do stand behind my comments above - trad guys rule

Didn’t we give the trad guys their own team this year? Weren’t they supposed to get a 2 deer handicap too? I don’t see how it would be a competitive contest otherwise.

I think y’all absolutely rule. I would love to kill a deer shooting a self bow slinging arrows and points that I made myself. I can’t think of a more rewarding way to take a deer. I just don’t have time for it. Unlike some on here I wasn’t around when this was the normal way to hunt so I didn’t learn many of those skills.

Naw - most of us are just to old or ornery to pick up a wheelie bow. My shoulder may force me yet - so far I think I am good for my 55# recurve.
