2019 team 12

Just getting started. Cooling weather arrived in time for my son & I’s annual squirrel/deer combo hunt. We are camping out this week at Arkansas’s White River NWR. Usually take a number of doe for the families freezers. The buck hunting gets more serious around Thanksgiving after the gun stuff is over. Hope to send pics.

Currently in 4th place! Not bad for a bunch of new saddle hunters...

Curious how you found that. Is it posted somewhere or did you have to add them all up on your own

I'm still waiting on our season to open up. Got high hopes for success though as I will be participating in two different Alabama special opportunity draw hunts this year. One of which is in two weeks and the other is in the end of Jan.

Well, camped out at and hunted last weekend at Wattensaw, Arkansas WMA. Never been there before and found some good sign that I will be returning to soon. However, on Saturday I had one of those mornings and after getting everything setup. Realized I left my release back at camp, you guessed it. Deer walked right by the tree I was in.

Will be back at it this weekend, not sure if it will be on private or public land yet.

Finally found me a target buck to go after. First sit last night he was a no show. Decent 8pt but has a weak G3 on his right side.

Shot this guy this morning. He isn't the biggest in the woods but that's all the more reason to go back tomorrow. Saw a buck bigger than this buck but no shot opportunity. Hopefully I'll be able to capitalize on Sunday.

What state are you hunting? That’s a fine buck

I'd have been happy with that buck for sure. Congrats on the kills so far guys! Our season kicks off tomorrow but I won't be able to get out after them until saturday morning.

Congratulations to y’all that have scored so far! I‘ve only been able to get out one afternoon for about 2 hours. And unfortunately my father-in-law just passed away on Friday so I’ll be dealing with that for the next couple of weeks. Might be able to get out one afternoon after work if I’m lucky but this situation definitely takes precedence over anything else. Make sure you tell your loved ones how much they mean to you. Never know when you’re time is up. Y’all keep huntin hard and good luck!
