2019 team 12

Shot a decent 7 last night and it would’ve been my first bow buck. Unfortunately, based on the arrow it looked like a only hit one lung. Called in the dogs and tracked it 5.7 miles but never found him. At least he’s still alive

We’re hanging in there for a bunch of “rookies”
Last I looked we were still 4th. Not bad at all. Especially with a few guys that just had seasons start. With what seemed like 10 birthday parties completed, I'll get back at it myself

Couple of small does asking for it last night.

I've got my first special opportunity draw hunt starting Thursday afternoon. Hopefully I'll get us some points on the board this weekend!

Hey guys, It seems that bucks have begun to chase here. I have yet to see much sign in terms of scrapes and I feel this is abnormal. Is anyone else seeing an absence of scrapes or are my deer keeping me guessing? I've found beds, food, water, countless rubs, and heavily used trails... no scrapes.

I haven't seen a ton of scrapes but I haven't been hunting hard yet. I did hang a cam this past weekend on a fresh scrape though.

Our rut doesn’t start until around Christmas but I have seen a couple scrapes. I’m assuming they are just community scrapes though

@Gator @Matki15 , maybe things will have changed throughout the week. Normally I am able to find a few active scrapes at the least but not a single open scrape this year so far. Even a community scrape is void of photos after 2 weeks on camera.

I’ll be honest, if I’m not seeing a lot of scrapes I don’t let it bother me. I’ll just find where the does are bedded and eventually those bucks are going to be checking those areas

No scraping going on here yet but our deer don't rut until late Jan/ early Feb

Hoping to put a slick head on the ground Friday evening and make aggressive moves on a big buck Saturday. I feel as though their movement patterns are about to tighten down.

Well guys I screwed up this weekend. I went down for that SOA hunt Friday through today and saw probably 30 deer all weekend. Never could get a shot on any of the does. Then I stuck an absolute giant this morning and messed up and hit him in the shoulder blade. Might have gotten two inches of penetration and that was it. No buck, no blood, no arrow. I’m sick.

That buck was also the first deer I’ve ever shot from my saddle. I just wish I could have hit him better and recovered him.

Sorry to hear that, I was in that situation last week. Shot a solid 7 point and the shot looked great. Got some blood dogs on him and ended up tracking him 5.7 miles. I assume I just clipped the top of one lung and missed the other

I have a confession to make guys. I shot and recovered a doe tonight. before taking up the blood trail I went back to the truck to swap packs (1.4 mile walk one way) and meet a buddy who owed me a favor. got to the deer and realized my saddle was in my hunting pack. pics were taken with no saddle, and points may not be given for it. sorry fellas. I'll still enter a pic, see what happens.
