That was great!!! Lol. Congrats!

Well, after a long night searching I brought my beagle pup Frankie out this morning. Lost a little meat but I broke a streak of not recovering deer, and got my first trad harvest under my belt. I’m elated and proud of my hound.

She died in the middle of a Native Prairie with 7 feet tall grasses. The shot placement was a touch high so the blood stayed in her. Pup earned his keep today!

First OOS deer with a bow. Nice Missouri nanny doe!

She came in to 6 yards and got a Simmons Swampshark through the rib cage. She traveled about 150 from the shot sight.

1st deer of the season. Stalker coyote 46@28”
Easton axis 500 with 75 grain brass insert and 165 grain Simmons head. She was quartered away jumped the string a little turned a little more. Arrow went in far back but at angle got both lungs and heart. She went about 30yards

Didnt pose for a great pic or anything as I hurried up and drug this button buck back to my seat to sit the rest of the evening because he dropped right in the scrape I was setup on. First kill with a recurve! Luckily he was small enough to hog tie the legs and carry out like a purse, had just under half mile hike with him. Drilled him at 20 yds thinking he was alone but when I shot mom took off from about 60 yards up the trail. Weird exit on him between shoulder and neck. Not sure if arrow deflected, he wheeled when I shot or he was quartered away more than I thought.
