2020 Broadhead choice?

Magnus Stinger Buzzcuts 4 blade. I did pick up some Viper Tricks just to try something different, but Magnus has produced for me the last couple years. My son shoots the Magnus Black Hornets.

How are the black hornets? I’ve wanted to try them, but i wondered if the steeper angle wouldn’t be as good at penetrating as the more gradual stinger.
The fly amazing that's for sure. I have them hitting with field points out to 40. Not and animal but shooting them next to the stingers they penetrant the target just as deep. If they are razor sharp you will have zero issues with penetration.

So I am shooting the hornets and will also have an expandable in the quiver but have not decided on which one yet. I like to have an expandable just in case i see a yote that needs to be hammered.

125g. Muzzy One with my Bear Empire at 55lb. and Grim Reaper later when I have to switch to the Killer Instinct due to the cold.

I've been using GR 100gr whitetail specials for a while now but switched to the Grim Reaper SS 100gr 3" cut this season. Make sure you're shooting a fast/hard hitting bow, it's a lot of cutting diameter to punch through a body but they wreak havoc.

And if you put that where your supposed to I’m sure it would get the job done.
ehhh. maybe. it might blow up your bow. youd be lucky to get a pass through if you nicked a rib. maybe on a small doe or a button buck.

It's basically like getting hit with a ping pong ball moving 100 miles an hour, or something like that. Bet you could catch one in the t-shirt logo area and not even have a scratch. Soon as I find a willing volunteer I'll post the video on my Instagram.

As a millennial, I don't really like to kill deer anyway. I just tag them with the arrow after getting their consent. The 4 last year...those were a tragic accident. I'm accepting gofundme donations for their families.

:)

200gn samurai single bevel, and magnus stinger killerbee 4 blade 150gn on ethics spinning inserts (not sure the inserts help but theyre fun to play with)

both fly like field points.

125 gr Magnus black hornet ser razors with 120 grains of brass. Shoot like field points out to 40. Im ready to rock n roll.

sure fire away! like one of those nerf arrows...haha no thanks! id rather get shot with an adult arrow and die with honor like a man

i will say to anyone considering this, that shooting a light mechanical set up on a 50lb bow is a bad idea. my neighbor talked me into it and i got my first 3 non-pass throughs on 2 bucks and a doe. second buck made it on my wall but we had a good brawl before it was over. first buck made it out alive.

IBO speed is determined using 5 grains per pound of draw weight. On a 55lb bow that comes out to 275 grains so it shouldn’t harm a 55lb bow. I wouldn’t recommend that light of an arrow but it wouldn’t bounce off of deer. None of us started bow hunting with the idea that we could shoot through shoulders and break down deer. Then we hit shoulder bones and suddenly were blaming the equipment. We don’t have to shoot shoulders or Texas heart shots either. All we really need an arrow to do is fly straight and penetrate at least one rib/ hide and about eight inches of soft tissue.

As heavy as you can stand is best for sure. My personal opinion on poor penetration with mechanical heads is people don’t tune their bow. A fishtailing arrow may shoot accurately but it isn’t going to penetrate well regardless of point design.

I've killed several deer and hogs with those heads. I need to get some more for the recurve @Vtbow gifted me.
Just found a box! should be on its way beginning of next week. I tied up a new string for it just need to serve it.

I think were on the same page. I meant bows in the 70lb range. i feel like thats the new standard -- even though i see a lot of guys pulling way to hard to get to full draw.
i just know that a "calm" deer at 30 yds can react to a shot quick enough to have a perfect broadside shot right on the money end up in the shoulder high quartering away. watching slomo videos with those lighted knocks showing how the POI shifts in a fraction of a second blows my mind

@PEEJAY I agree. I have a 70 lb bow. I turned it down to 55 last year to see if my son could shoot it. I liked shooting it so much I just left it sat there. I can shoot so many more weird angles in the tree it’s crazy. I never had difficulty drawing 70lbs but feel like I could hang upside down and make a decent shot at 55lbs.
