Well, the 2020 Saddlehunter.com deer contest is in the books. Once again I’d like to make sure we thank @redsquirrel for continuing this tradition for us here on Saddlehunter.com. Personally I’d like to thank him for letting me keep the scores again this year too. I really enjoy seeing and sharing in everyone’s success. I’m always amazed at the size of the deer you guys kill every year. I swear those things don’t get that big ‘round here.

As a whole there were 167 deer entered this year, 89 antlerless and 78 bucks including some truly impressive specimens. Congrats to everyone who connected and shared. For those who weren’t so lucky, I offer wishes for a better season next year. Thanks for sharing your hunts with us regardless. For me the contest is less about the individual success and more about camaraderie both within and between teams.

All that said . . . here are the results.

Honorable mentions this year go to Teams 13, 12 and 10 who finished in second, third and fourth respectively and kept the score close throughout the contest.

I’m happy to say though that the winners this year are my own team, TEAM 5! Way to go guys! You guys really killed it (pun intended). These guys killed some impressive bucks this year and I’m feeling very lucky and blessed to have lucked onto this team and group of all around good guys.

Again, the contest is all in fun but I still use it to give me that little extra incentive to get out into the woods a little more often, and even if it only accounts for an extra sit for two a year, it’s worth it. As always, I have truly enjoyed sharing this season with each and every one of you guys. Thanks for participating and we hope to see you all again next year! I personally can’t wait.

Thank you @boyne bowhunter for taking the time to do this and keeping the stats up to date on a weekly basis. Without your efforts the competition wouldn't nearly be as fun (and competitive)!!! I agree, the virtual friendships and camaraderie make it that much more special and its great to see so many people who honestly just love to hunt deer. Congrats to Team 5 and thank you my fellow Team 13 members for a great season. Silver ain't bad!!!

Thanks @redsquirrel and @boyne bowhunter for another year of this. I went from 1st last year to last this year. Maybe I'll shoot for dead center next season lol. I only killed 1 buck this year, so I fell short on my part. I guess next season I'll have to hunt some familiar honey holes along with public to get the job done. Congratulations to TEAM 5 for the win and to @redsquirrel for carrying Team 7 as far as you could...Hahahah

Can we please let it go thru the Alabama Full season Feb 10 next year.
It's not out of the question. When were trying to decide an end date this year we looked back at 2019 there were only two deer submitted after Jan 6 and, since most of our seasons have already ended by Feb 1st we decided to cut it off on that date this year. Really there's only been one deer submitted in the last two weeks of the contest this year too and that was back on Jan 18th.

I know, you don't have to remind me I haven't killed a deer in January and probably wont kill one in February LOL but I still like to hope. Thanks for your efforts on the contest tho.

Keep at it and Good Luck! Just because the contest ends doesn't mean you can't kill a deer. :)

Not bad. I was on the winning team last year and best loser this year. Roll tide and thank ya to them that make this thing work. Always fun.
If it makes you feel any better I was on the last place "veteran Saddlehunter" team last year and somehow managed to find the winning team this year. Purely luck of the draw and hunt(s). :)
