Well, the 2020 Saddlehunter.com deer contest is in the books. Once again I’d like to make sure we thank @redsquirrel for continuing this tradition for us here on Saddlehunter.com. Personally I’d like to thank him for letting me keep the scores again this year too. I really enjoy seeing and sharing in everyone’s success. I’m always amazed at the size of the deer you guys kill every year. I swear those things don’t get that big ‘round here.
As a whole there were 167 deer entered this year, 89 antlerless and 78 bucks including some truly impressive specimens. Congrats to everyone who connected and shared. For those who weren’t so lucky, I offer wishes for a better season next year. Thanks for sharing your hunts with us regardless. For me the contest is less about the individual success and more about camaraderie both within and between teams.
All that said . . . here are the results.
Honorable mentions this year go to Teams 13, 12 and 10 who finished in second, third and fourth respectively and kept the score close throughout the contest.
I’m happy to say though that the winners this year are my own team, TEAM 5! Way to go guys! You guys really killed it (pun intended). These guys killed some impressive bucks this year and I’m feeling very lucky and blessed to have lucked onto this team and group of all around good guys.
Again, the contest is all in fun but I still use it to give me that little extra incentive to get out into the woods a little more often, and even if it only accounts for an extra sit for two a year, it’s worth it. As always, I have truly enjoyed sharing this season with each and every one of you guys. Thanks for participating and we hope to see you all again next year! I personally can’t wait.
