I got soaked through and through during the meet up in PA. The chance of rain was around 50%. Met a great group of guys but I don't think I'll be doing that again if they're calling for 50% or higher...

Cursing mother nature right now.

I'm always a huge advocate for safety-first, and not sure what the rain will mean in this regard. I'm not too far away but really feeling bummed for those making a long trek.

Having said this, my sense is that we may have a low turnout and it might be best to reschedule....but this is just my gut. I'm good either way.

It's one thing to already be in a tree when a little shower comes though. It's another thing to step out of the truck and trudge through raisin sized raindrops for 20 minutes and then attempt climbing a soaked tree.

Wet ropes on wet trees is a sketchy thing to me.

Yeah see that’s why I’m wanting to postpone. One reason was for folks to throw their crap on a tree so folks can see and test other products but I’m weighing the risk/benefit ratio right now. Right now I’m leaning heavy towards postpone. I’m gonna keep an eye on the weather and see what happens

I’ve seen these forecasts change day by day. I say wait until Friday and make the call then. If it’s still >50% chance of rain in the morning, we postpone. Here’s the current forecast for Broad Run from Weather dot com.

Ok gang, I’m seeing 18% chance of rain. I say we go for it. AVENGERS ASSEMBLE! or something like that. Let’s meet at 10am. My plan is to get everyone together, have a quick meet and greet, then throw some gear around and on some trees. The spot I’ve got picked has 4 trees so we should have plenty of room. If you guys want to bring your bows we could have an informal who’s the worst shot shoot off, I have a couple prizes I can give away. Have a Q and A, discuss hunting strategies, etc and then retire to the brewery for something to eat and adult cold snacks. We will be in the woods so you’re advised to dress and spray accordingly. Folks bringing guests, you’re responsible for them. If they get tipsy and act the fool know that the owners of the brewery have zero tolerance for asshatery. I’ve attached a screenshot. Park in or as close to the red highlighted section. The blue line from the parking area is where we’ll be walking too. For you guys that are traveling far, we completely understand if you decide to nope out. I would advise everyone to check the weather one last time in the morning.
see you tomorrow!E716B80A-2CAE-46CA-879A-D45C2D45CC6F.jpeg

Sorry, but I’m out as well. Wife found out some friends are passing through Charlottesville around noon.

Ok guys, apparently the owner changed the time they open the gate so if the gate is closed when you get here drive past the driveway and there’s an unmarked frontage road annotated in orange. You can park there
You’ll see my white archery target at the end of the road 4CAB7E31-6A16-4973-A33B-13BF932B23CB.jpeg
