2021 shed hunting

Put 11 miles in scouting the last 2 days. Never actually “shed hunted” before, but I was looking out for them while I was out. I tried reading up some tips on finding; what I came up with was look near bedding and feeding and look for the glare on moist days. No luck yet but will keep my eye out as I continue to scout through turkey season.

I was just walking up behind my house in the woods and was trying out my new Tethrd ONE stick on different trees and angles, and look down and lo and behold a MONSTER!!! Lol65DFDE23-2113-4096-9BD6-C8B6869CDED4.jpeg

Found 1 today on public where someone had a bait pile about 10 yards from their ladder stand. Here in Ohio you can't bait on public land, guess he didn't read the rules.

I’ve never shed hunted much, or had much success. There’s a south facing slope across a river and I’ve always suspected bucks bed there; got permission to walk it Sat and found exactly what I expected where I expected it - upper left shed. Overall best day ever for me.

Aaaaannnddd now you're addicted. it is so satisfying to call your shot and go in there blind and find them. This year I found one not 6 inches from where I found a similar shed in a bed last year. Made me smile.

Yessir, fist pumps and rush of feel good hormones.... and trying to figure out when I might be able to get out searching again.

Thanks. He’s gonna be a dandy next year. 12 inch 2s and 9 inch 3s. Hard to tell but has a double brow on one side too. Chewed up a bit.
