2021 Trash Talk!!

I believe the rule was if your sitting over 15" off the ground, bucket hunting rules stated you had to be tied off with no slack.. unless your running a screamer.

I hunt out of my saddle off the ground more than up a tree.... disregarding bucket silliness... Why would a ground saddle kill not be the same as elevated saddle kill?
a kill is kill but I don’t know if it’s considered allowed for the competition or not. It may be that you have to just be hanging from tree like you say ground or otherwise. I can’t remember and I don’t see anything in the rules.
Rule 1 simply says you have to be in a “saddle type stand”

not sure what the ruling is? @GCTerpfan @Bigterp @boyne bowhunter @sureshotscott ?

We have allowed entries in the past where the deer was shot while hanging in the saddle at ground level. I hunt that way myself sometimes where there isn't enough elevated cover or too much understory to shoot through. That is not wearing your saddle while walking in. Some level of self reporting integrity is assumed.

I turkey hunted from mine this spring. Too much cover to see if I was sitting in the ground. So I set my tether at about 5 foot and hung there. I chose a big tree so I could stay behind it to any turkeys I could hear coming. It worked very well.

Yep....I do just that a bunch....our woods are really thick and if u climb a tree u can't see sometimes. Rake down to bare earth around the trunk and keep on ur toes cause they gonna be right in ur face by the time u see them

What?? You can be tethered in on the ground but not tethered in while using a hang on??? Let me guess you can be tethered up in a ground or box blind!! Phsst!:triumph: Lol

I climbed up last night in the yard, and the mosquitos were awful. Not sure how you southern boys do it.
That lovely little device called a thermocell and a high tolerance for flying nuisances
It’s not just the mosquitoes, it’s the sand gnats, and the horse flies too.

Ppssshhhh....ur buddy is the point poster. Did he hold ur hand all the way to ur tree
He held my hand, it was my spot I brought him to! After I found his buck I can honestly say I have never been hugged by a man that much in my life! :tearsofjoy: He was all worried cause it was a liver shot and the blood had tapered out the night before. Luckily I know where every deer dies in that piece.

I'm hunting a way bigger buck in that piece. My goal was to get him his buck first so he could film me. I'm glad we got him done! Now the focus is on the big boy. I got his on film, he got my 2 on film, now to get the true giant on film.

Side note: I watched him struggle to get a shot for 5 minutes, I could've killed that deer 20 times over! Can't shoot a great buck if you settle for the good ones!

So watch out, I'm coming for the title home boy!
