2021 WI Saddle Hunter Meetup - August 28th

Couple of people listed
This is not directly saddle related, but does anyone planning on coming have a lone Wolf hand climber? The whole stand. I’m thinking about buying one as my non saddle option and want to try it out.

A couple of people that signed up listed that they are bringing a lone wolf hand climber but not sure if that will be the entire rig or just the seat part.

I did a walkthrough at the meetup venue tonight. For those that attended last year, we will be setup in the same spot as last year. For those that are new this year, just look for the awesome saddle hunter banner that @onestringer had made up for me last year when you enter the parking area.

It looks like it is going to be a little steamy on Saturday with a chance of scattered rain. I will be there rain or shine. I’ll have a cooler with water and we will be in the shade so shouldn’t be bad for us. I plan on bringing my pop-up canopy also in case it does rain. Would be great if a couple of you could bring one also to give us additional cover in the event a shower does roll through. The club will have beer, soda and water for sale along with food in the clubhouse. We can also shelter there if necessary.

As of today, there are 21 guys signed up so we are going to have a good variety of saddles, sticks, platforms, stands and “stuff” to show off. I’ll be there to show my gear the entire day but I’m sure others will come and go throughout the day so selection will vary a little.

Reminder that @DanO will be there and will bring orders placed on https://doublesteps.com before Friday to the meetup. Use code DEMODAY when you place your order to save on shipping. He will not be selling items at the meetup but will have all his goodies to show off.

There will be some nice free raffle giveaways in the meetup area. I’m still noodling on what time those will be drawn and whether the winners will need to be present to win.

Last thing I wanted to mention is the trees we will be hanging from are on the larger size compared to what I tend to hunt from. Some may require use of an extension strap.

Thanks in advance for the interest in this years meetup. I’m excited to see everyone on Saturday. Let me know there are any questions.

This is the area we will be hanging out at.

One more update…. Buying and selling will be allowed this year.

Hunting Beast Gear giveaways will include shirts, hats, sweatshirts and possibly a set of Beast Mini sticks (depending on whether a shipment of standoffs comes in this week).

Ah, good to know. I have a few items that I’ll bring for guys to try out that I intend to list on the site soon.

-Predator XL
Only used in my yard. Going with a regular Predator instead.

-Tactical Knee Pads (new with tags)

-I may sell my Tethrd Phantom as well. Undecided on this. Bought in January…only used in my yard. Going to use my Overwatch Transformer…just not sure if I want to keep a backup saddle or not.

-EWO 15in One Stick w/3 15in step aider w top step, flat scout and Harken cam cleat.
I’m running this exact setup, but found a guy selling this exact setup with some mods already made to it right after I ordered mine so I bought his to give me more practice time.

I may be interested in the predator. Just bought one but remember liking the xl more. Hopefully I’ll have it before the weekend to compare the two

@JCLINE84 sent me a transformer for us to try out also. I am not a 2-panel guy so will be good to have someone there with more time in one than the short sit I did in the basement to show us the ropes.

I’m pretty excited about this. I hope the weather isn’t terrible.

Looks like it’ll be a hot one. At least we’ll have some shade.

Thanks to eveyone, we learned a lot and are excited for the season
Glad you enjoyed it Mike. Hope you and the boys got hands on with all the gear you were hoping to check out. Enjoy the door prize items!

Thanks again, Chuck! Great meeting all of you.

And @DanO thanks for coming all the way down and bringing so many great items for us to try out. Reinforced that EWO is the first place I’ll go (and recommend) for my saddle hunting needs.

Some photos of the fun. @DanO takes a meetup to a whole new level. His totes are like magic boxes. You reach in and pretty much pull out any saddle you ever heard of. Thanks again for driving all the way over from MI and supporting the meetup with your knowledge and great giveaway items.5715CD86-DE47-4F42-B6BB-06B25369B0CA.jpeg

Rob and Rick were on hand from The Hunting Beast showing off their mobile system. The Beast Stand and sticks are legit mobile hunting options. Man that stand is light! Thanks again to them for the 4 pack of mini beast sticks, shirts, hats and sweatshirts that they offered up for giveaway items.

Glad to see some lady outdoor enthusiasts there this year. You are never too pregnant to attend a saddle meetup:)
