Why the 2 deer per member limit? Curious about that. Some states have pretty generous bag limits. Not that anyone would go out and tag out just for the contest but if you got them, why not count them?
my guess is some states don’t have as generous as of tags as others so 2 might make it fair. For example. You can’t kill a second buck in Kentucky. Why the 2 deer per member limit? Curious about that. You can always upgrade if you shoot something better. Why the 2 deer per member limit? Curious about that. Some states have pretty generous bag limits. Not that anyone would go out and tag out just for the contest but if you got them, why not count them?
That's what I guessed. Some folks might sandbag with 4 bucks, 17 does, 8 knotheads, 4 spotted fawns and a partridge in a pear tree.I’m new but

Sounds like @Nutterbuster before he went veganThat's what I guessed. Some folks might sandbag with 4 bucks, 17 does, 8 knotheads, 4 spotted fawns and a partridge in a pear tree.
I think MS has that, oddly enough. 3 bucks per season most areas. They gerrymandered the state again and now they have a northeast zone with 10 antlerless this season. From the look of it there are a pile of deer up near the TN line and they are scarce down around the coast.what state is it that has 1 buck per day limit, hahah, some limit....Georgia or something...
Man my season opens next month but it’s doggone 97 degrees outside. I go up a tree in that heat you’re gonna find my dehydrated and desiccated corpse. I am stoked tho, the weather will drop eventually.
I badly need a chance at redemption both here and the timber pimp contest. Last year I bombed due to my neck surgery. I missed archery and our rut… This year I’m all healed up and in bad need of redemption by taking a couple of those “massive” 100 lbs deer that Florida has to offer
When does the rut usually start and end where you are? In Northern Wisconsin in the area I hunt it it usually in high gear the second week of November.I’m waiting to see the contest dates. If it ends before rut again I won’t be joining.
I request that I am not on the same team as Moe this year cause he used about 5 years worth of luck on that buckI’m ready can’t wait to get back in the tree. I doubt I’ll be able to top last years 14pt. But I’ll have fun trying. 2nd place last year was awesome. Looking forward to the new season!
Who are you kidding, y’all don’t have a rutI’m waiting to see the contest dates. If it ends before rut again I won’t be joining.
Does drop year round in Alabama so there isn’t a well defined rut. Some small areas do have a peak rut but it moves a lot and is hard to catch. It’s nothing like a rut in the traditional sense and almost non existent in a lot of areas. When does the rut usually start and end where you are? It usually starts around Feb 1 for most of the southern half of the state. There’s some chasing and few pockets around the edges that start up the last week of January. I start getting pics of fresh fawns last of Aug- first of sept. When does the rut usually start and end where you are? It’s crazy how we can chase rut from mid November - February moving down the state. The only downside is the amount of competition on public land. It’s downright dangerous to go in blind after daylight on some of these prime weekend gun hunts. Like watching the sun come up in a pumpkin patch…. if pumpkins grew in pine trees, lol.Does drop year round in Alabama so there isn’t a well defined rut.
