2023 Florida Saddlehunter meet up…..

Thank you @Fl Canopy Stalker and your crew for putting on the meet up. I know alot of work goes into setting up a event like this. I had a great time talking to you and all of the saddle hunters. I was expecting @wildabeast to be a mean dude, but to my surprise he was very nice. I did get to see his secret climbing method.
Only regret is I did not see your 2 panel, how much will it cost me to be a field tester??? LOL
A picture would be nice when you are ready to release it.

The fact you joined us all the way from Ky was awesome. I feel horrible that I didn’t get more time to hang out but seeing your climb with the bullman steps and that foot stirrup was awesome. I learned so much from all you guys. It was great. Hopefully next time, we can make it worth your trip.

@MADhunts it was a true honor getting to meet you and the budget sportsman. Hopefully everyone there will subscribe and follow both of you guys and support the cause. Thank you for coming out and also giving us a shout out but truly Wood Hunting Saddles didn’t do anything. It was all the guys that showed up and made it a great time. Guys like you, @Weldabeast, @cutty, @ScottL ,@RookieJD , @JAYBO, @colin.704, and @GeoFish. The companies like CGM, Overwatch outdoors, Buzzard Roost, Trophyline, and Bullman Outdoors made it happen. People came from all around to try out and enjoy their products. All we did was invite as many people as possible and invite a caterer to bring in some BBQ.
I hope everyone had a great time and next year we will be adding an elevated archery tournament to the mix and a few more surprises. @MADhunts , Thank you again and looking forward to seeing more of your content

I really want to thank @JCLINE84 -overwatch outdoors, Benny from Buzzard Roost, @always89y -Custom Gear Modifications, @DanO -Eastern Woods Outdoors, Shawn from Bullman Outdoors, Peter from FL Camo, Clayton from Ghost strings, the awesome guys from SkullHill archery, Shawn Ferguson -Trophyline, and the guys at Swamp N Stomp. Without all these great guys and companies, there wouldn’t have been so many amazing products to try out and win. Between the two days we totaled 83 saddle hunters and a total of 41 camped out with us (would have been more but technically Budget sportsman was out of the camp grounds and so was @GeoFish.

As I stated next year we plan to integrate an elevated 3D archery tournament, hopefully some more awesome awesome saddles, steps, platforms and gear! Maybe one of us losers can actually hit a pig (instead of bumping em) to win the Coveted Trophy of Boss Hog!!!
Thanks again guys especially all of you on this amazing forum that help spark ideas, support businesses and teach horrible hunters like me, something new everyday. Seriously I hope to see you all again at the next one. Ok mushy post over

The plaque is yours this year for the legwork and networking so we could all get together. U deserve it even thou u didn't share any birddog with me. I'll have a new 1 for next year. The mounting holes are 16"on center for ez stud mount. That's 304L stainless steel so u could hang it interior or exterior.

If we get skunked next year we will have to cast the plaque into the depths of lake George as an offering to the lady of the lake and maybe she will bless us the following year..... I didn't meet any losers this weekend. The hunt is an afterthought....I could tell as I walked around seeing the groups of guys and gals that everybody seemed to be having a genuine good time. We ran a little later into the evening Saturday than I think was anticipated so only a handful hunted that evening and this morning only a small handful went out. It's pretty darn difficult to come in blind, to a new wma to almost everybody, add high temps, and get on animals. The dynamic duo @Fl Canopy Stalker and @ScottL had an encounter this morning and @RookieJD had an encounter Fri evening. @Capttickle and I found nice bottom with tons of sign sat evening and if we would have had our saddles on and posted up I know we would have had an encounter. I was having issue with my avenza map so first thing this morning I redownload it so I could make sure I stayed off the private and walked some clear cuts that back up to swamp. 3 gobblers were hammering so I picked one and did a mock turkey hunt and tracked him down and I'd say I got to within 80yds.of his location before he saw me and went back into the swamp...I got to see some crows pestering an eagle up close ...I was maybe 30yds from the base of the tree the eagle was in and that was pretty cool. I have never hunted that far south and there are things that are the same and then there were trees and bushes and flowers in the swamp that I don't see were I'm at so that was cool.

I may see some of u during season next year (hint hint wink wink...don't forget about ol' weldabeast if u got an open guest quota) and the other guys/gals I won't see, I hope to see u again at flaooza24

I hope u outta staters enjoyed yourselves.. @GeoFish I'll try to be a little more mean if our paths cross again...haha it was very nice meeting u sir.
@colin.704 I did find some aloe plants while I was out this morning but we have those silly rules about cutting stuff on public so u on ur own with that sunburn....hahahaha the video of ur boys first bass was awesome and hilarious. Maybe not next season but as this baby gets older and easier to manage and I can stray further from home I am definetly gonna take u up on that offer and coming up and killing some deer with u.

and to all u local jax/st auggy peeps I'm sorry if I kill all ur target bucks next season, so please don't be mad at me...hahahaha

I want to give a big thanks and aloha to the people that put on the event. Everyone that was sharing their knowledge. Thank you so much I had a great time. I learned a ton. I was ready to spend money and buy a saddle. Should I have known and spent money on the raffle tickets I might be in better shape. Now it’s what saddle to start with. Already priced out a Grigri a rope. The saddle keeps me up at night

There are so many great ones to choose from. Thanks for coming out and hope to see you again next year

Guys I found some secret behind the scenes footage on you tube. This guy has a newer page and could use some subscribers. Help us support local guys if you enjoyed the event: as more videos surface, I’ll share them as well

I'm subscribing for all the bee keeping info...in that short lunch of leftover bbq i learned so much about bees I didn't know.

It's so interesting all the different walks of life that come together at events like this and u learn about all kinds of stuff u never ever thought u needed to know about before.....hang around the campfire long enough and u could probably leave outta there an expert poacher ......hahahaha jk it's not poaching if it an exotic on public land during the required hunting season and in possession of a valid quota permit
