2024 Unofficial Trad Team Thread

Need to join the official too.

But I’m in. Vacation with the wife, but I’ll square everything away Friday.


That is if there’s room…
 
The odds of me being in my saddle when/if I kill are pretty low. I have lots of preset stands on my 2 primary areas. Will only use my saddle on public which might be about 5% of my hunting this year.
Plus my odds of killing a doe are extremely low since I haven't shot one in 12 years, intentionally of course.
But it looks like fun, have at it boys.

I'm sorry, we already fulfilled our quota of excuses for this season. You will be required to participate. ;)

Okay, I'm in. Just know I have a hard time with rules. So you're all going to have to keep me in line.
I'll be ground hunting starting next week, just on antelope in Wyoming. Not sure how that fits in.

Post it up. @gcr0003 keeps up with the points and while a pronghorn likely wont count, we still need to see it. You know us trad hunters never kill anything anyway. Or when we do kill, no matter the size of the animal, you have to get all the obligatory comments of that's a great _______ for a trad bow. ;)
 
I was hoping we had a better turn out this year but it looks like a lot of the trad guys aren’t competing in the main contest this year. The team may be mighty green this year but it’ll still be fun. Maybe next year we will go anyone to join since we’re struggling with numbers this year. Here’s who have so far. If you know some other guys that dabble with the trad bow @ them below please.

@Jagger0502 i know you said you’d rather watch but it looks like you’re already in the main contest, you won’t have to do anything special, we would just pull any kills that you enter into the main contest that are trad into the trad team score. If you don’t hunt trad much or don’t kill one no big deal.

lemme get a couple down using compound and then i'll certainly pick up the recurve. OR if i hunt private 1st few weeks of Oct.

I’d like to join but most of my traditional hunting will be from the ground.

I joined the main contest at the buzzer so feel free to add me.
This will be my 3rd season trying to get a kill with my recurve. ( I have had many painfully close opportunities every year and usually tag one or two with muzzleloader)
Season opened last Sunday.

@mikeout10 saw you in the team 7 thread talking getting a kill with the recurve. Can we count you in our trad team score as well?
