2025 Getting/Staying In Shape Motivation Thread

Broke in new boots and new pack with a 6.25 mile walk. It’s almost like cheating using the exo
Which size did you decide on? I talked myself into the 5000 last year and absolutely love it.
I’m not sure that I still have it adjusted correctly though.

I got the 3600. I think I nailed the fit. Only reason I knew I had the pack on was a wet back from sweat.

My hunting partner has an older K2 3500 I believe and he was fitting more stuff in his than I could in mine… just because I can’t organize very well. I just ordered a crib during their Memorial Day sale to start rucking with it. Hopefully that works out, Enjoy!!!

Got most of the water/mess dealt with yesterday. Lot of trips up and down the stairs lol. Going to a baseball game tonight so looks like two days off in a row

I wouldn’t say two days off in a row. Sounds like you worked out on one of the original stair climbers, yesterday. Those are better and harder than the new models, lol.

I finally broke in my new jump rope last night. It has been awhile since I’ve used one, and let me just say holy crap. I forgot how intense of a workout it is.

Back in my military days I used to spend about 45 minutes in the gym with a medicine ball, a jump rope and dark side of the moon. I would blast that album and work out for the entirety of it(45 minutes or so). I got some weird looks when someone else would walk in. I would do set time intervals with the rope, 2,3,4,5,4,3,2, minutes and a medicine ball routine in between the rope. It’s going to be a while before i can do that again, but it felt good!

True. Took the dog for a decent walk today as well, I should be better at "counting" things that aren't strictly running. Definitely was feeling the OG stairmaster by the end of the day.

Man, busy freaking few days. Had to skip Sundays run which is the first one I’ve missed in several weeks. Scheduled day off Monday. Forced to miss yesterdays but I got that in this morning. Planning to get todays workout in tonight

This morning: 5 easy and 4 sets of strides for 5.5
Tonight: 2 easy, 10x2:00, 2 easy
Tomorrow: 5 easy
Friday: rest
Saturday: Baltimore 10 Miler
Sunday: hopefully 8 trail miles followed by some hills

Need to decide on a goal for Saturday and figure out how much I should let the rain influence that goal

Sa - 5 Mile Race with a mile long hill in it  - goal is to beat my time from last year
Su - 4 easy recovery

Tonight: 2 easy, 10x2:00, 2 easy
Shot for 6:45/mi for the goal pace of the intervals

1 - 6:36
2 - 6:45
3 - 6:41
4 - 6:57
5 - 6:37

I’ll dial it back whenever you decide to run an actual easy pace lol

How long of a break in between each interval? What is your heart rate during the intervals?
Thanks
