Unfortunately it started with the older shoes, was kinda hoping the new shoes would make a difference. Not positive and definitely not an expert but has it coincided with the new shoes?
You’re absolutely crushing it, man! Kudos to ya. Get on strava so we can stalk your stats more lol
5 easy miles this morning followed by 4 sets of strides. Knee felt mostly better. Thought my legs were mostly recovered from Saturday until I did the strides haha. Thought my quads were gonna explode. 5:53, 5:55, 6:06, and 6:17 for them. Rest of the week should look like:
Tomorrow - 2 EZ, 6x1:00 hills, 5:00 EZ, 15:00 hard, 2 EZ (total ~7.5)
Thursday - 6 Easy
Friday - Rest
Saturday - 14 Trails
Sunday - 8 Trails with 4 sets of strides
Last weekend of coaching flag football so hopefully the long weekend miles get easier after this one. We’ll see if I have time to get them all done this week. If I can I’ll be following in @Just_Hangin_N_GA footsteps and getting my first week over 40
I’m not very App savvy and just have always used the Garmin Connect. Is it not possible to share my Garmin Connect data or is Strava a better platform for sharing. You’re absolutely crushing it, man! Kudos to ya. Get on strava so we can stalk your stats more lol
Wheewwww buddy this was a doozy. The hills kicked my butt. The 15:00 hard finished me.Tomorrow - 2 EZ, 6x1:00 hills, 5:00 EZ, 15:00 hard, 2 EZ (total ~7.5)
I don't know much about Garmin but with other platforms, they just push the data to Strava. Everything remains in the original source as well. If you disable strava it just won't push new data there. If you delete strava - you just lose the strava stats but that has nothing to do with the source. Is it not possible to share my Garmin Connect data or is Strava a better platform for sharing.
The main thing is I still want to use my GC and not lose anything if I add Strava.
That stride is an adjustment that’s for sure2:41am- Zone 2 run, 12.50 miles in 2:30:33@ a 12:02/mi pace and Average HR 121bpm
.
Not sure if lack of sleep is finally getting to me, the blisters or what but this was a rough run. Had to stop around 10.5 miles to stretch my knees because my pace was getting so slow to maintain Zone 2 that the short strides seems to be more stressing on my knees than sprinting.
Anyway it is done, have a great day everyone!!!!
Thanks for sharing. It is nice to know that it will start paying dividends. My problem is I have been increasing my Zone 2 distances and not really able to compare. I did have a run this weekend that was encouraging then Tuesday morning’s run I got dropped kicked with a dose of reality, lol. That stride is an adjustment that’s for sure
My slow miles and mixed in tempo is paying off. Used to have to walk a bunch for zone 2 and it was still hard to get under 13 min miles. Now if I ever walk it’s just on part of a hill and the paces have massively improved
3/12 - first zone 2 run. 5k. 13:16 pace with a ton of walking
3/27 - 6 miles took 1:18
Today - 6 miles in 1:04
Downhills definitely helped today but I’ve noticed that pace decreasing too. Hope the next 3 months continue the same as the last 3. Wish I would have started this a year ago when I got back into running
Do you guys have a paid subscription to Strava or the free version?@Just_Hangin_N_GA I use a Garmin and Strava and I'm pretty sure @GreginPA is right about how Garmin and Strava work together.
I am paid , but I think I'm going to let my subscription run out next month. I goofed up the annual thing somehow and it's only good until July 8 I think. Not sure. Either way I haven't been taking advantage of the paid features so I'm not sure it's worth it for me. I did however like the segments when I was running.Do you guys have a paid subscription to Strava or the free version?
Yeah, I forgot to ask if the paid version had enough special features to warrant the purchase. I don’t mind paying but I don’t think I even take advantage of the free stuff I have on Garmin Connect.I am paid , but I think I'm going to let my subscription run out next month. Happy Birthday!Still having trouble staying on the bandwagon lately but not completely giving up either. Treadmill 6 tonight, took yesterday off and went for a short AM walk then kayaked for a few hours while I turned 40, treadmill 4.5 on Tuesday.
It's make it or break it time if I want to do a fall marathon, they're roughly 16-18 weeks away.
