2025 Getting/Staying In Shape Motivation Thread

I own one of these and use it for work outs mostly. I made a recommendation for it to @hokiehunter373 and he has had bad experiences with the device and their support.

I've had a few hiccups with mine and I think I've narrowed them down to being battery related. Specifically - degraded performance where the workout starts to read from my watch instead of the H10 and flip flops back and forth if the battery gets "low". This is complicated by the battery reporting in the H10 is not accurate. The other week I had reporting issues, my battery was at 70%, I replaced the battery and the issue went away. Also - I find that if I wear it off center towards my heart is seems to work better - and I always pre-wet it per instructions.

I still use it, but wanted to share since I've felt bad about Hokie's experience with it after my recommendation.
I’ve had battery issues in the past. Even went so far as to replace the strap once. Last week I was getting a low battery message(it’s been in there for 9mo or so and I always detach the unit from the strap when done) so I bought new batteries. I couldn't for the life of me get it to connected after. Swapped batteries, swapped straps and finally found a thread on Reddit that solved the issue. The fix was to fold a small piece of paper and put it behind the battery to help preload the battery into the contacts better. It instantly connected and ran flawless tonight. I’ll have to see how it works in the long run.

Partner workout tonight:

30min As Many Round/Reps As Possible

P1 Run 400m
P2 Row 500m

Both partners work at the same time. Switch when the run/row is complete.
1 round is when both partners do both movements

Finished 6rds and a 200m run

So there I was...about 5 miles in on a 6 mile run. Nearly 80F, beautiful day. Nice buck was standing in the trail not 30 yards ahead of me. I grabbed my phone and he started to trot away, staying on the trail. I thought "let's see how close I can get'. I chased him down the trail for just a little ways and he turned broadside to me. I suddenly realized that this may not be a great idea, lol. Good times. Full on rut, I could smell him for sure!deer.png

Haven't been posting my workouts much but did 14 today. overall pace was 8:41. definitely still having some pain from my injury but I'm exited for my half marathon in 4 weeks. won't be a PR but I'm further along in recovering my fitness than I thought I would be at this point.

I tried the folded paper under my H10 and my readings were perfect the entire run. Great tip @DKCT !

Did a 4.4 mile runngun with obstacle course on Saturday. Great event.
Chest yesterday, ABX this morning, hitting the pavement this afternoon.

I was logging yesterday's workout - huge gap starting 10/30....muzzleloading season does slow down the workouts.

My HRV trended down about a week and a half ago and has been hovering below my "normal" baseline since. I feel fine, perhaps slightly congested, and the general stress of being a single parent (with a difficult to hostile coparent, but that's a story for a different thread) but Garmin must think I'm dying. Put my training status after my run yesterday as strained and my training readiness as a 1. I don't let the watch completely dictate what I do, but it's interesting, as HRV trend has been a relatively good predictor of illness in the past for me.

My experience, at least according to customer service, has also been a battery issue. I’ve only got to use it once since I had it fixed so idk if it’s actually fixed or not
