2025 Getting/Staying In Shape Motivation Thread

last night was 6x1000 about 7:12 pace, total of 8.5 miles
going to be running easy until the new year and then my focus will be elevation for a 25k I have in April

Man I suck, been out my routine for about a month. Back at it tomorrow, dogs are getting fat. I need to get in the gym & start putting on miles for CO. Call me out if I don’t post here tomorrow!!!
Yep. Me too. Except I've been out since the third week of October. It happens every year for hunting season. Work, hunt and little time for much else. Some body weight workouts for 10min each morning but that's it. Every year I gotta start back over on my running.

We were shut down all week last week, with an added bonus of it feeling like summer here. (Christmas was 80 degrees!)
Built a bunch of fence, ran some miles, hit the weights. Didn't overeat at all, did 7 miles worth of hill repeats Saturday morning.

I wrote down a list of upcoming runs/biathlons for 2026, there's only four so far, but it's more than enough to stay motivated.

Yesterday was 40 minutes on the treadmill 10% incline with a vest. Couldnt really get more incline due to tweaking my left hamstring playing pickleball Sunday.

Cold and windy yesterday. Quite a change from two days ago!
ABx, 6 miles in the hills (and mostly out of the wind!)

Me!! I’m 68, most all the friends i have that play that stuff all have injuries!!
About half the group I play with for fun are retired. A few north of 70. Most of the other half is mid 30's to mid 40's. My DL says I am 57 but that's some BS. I think you are definitely on to something with the clinic though. Dont have an ortho doc in our group but do have a dentist and a physical therapist so we have a good bit covered. LOL

Do you all take a lot of pickle balls to the teeth? Lol

Not normally but some of the older crew have fallen pretty hard where teeth could have been in danger. Dont know for sure if the ones that have tumbled have their originals or if they have moved on to store bought chompers but havin the dentist around could be useful at some point.

Oh wow! You all are into it huh? I guess with the older crew that could be more of a possibility. Good for you all though getting out there and staying active.
