Hadn't seen this yet.

Been getting after them this year. Kiddo isnt trusted with hooks yet, but can yeet a bobber pretty good on her zebco. Been kayak fishing more, and feel like I'm getting the hang of the whole fly fishing thing. Been tying up a bunch of leaders and just bought a couple hundred b10s hooks for tying poppers, gurglers, clousers, deceivers, zonkers, and whatever else I can tie.

Dang she is a cute little angel. Can't believe she is already that big. Just feel it wasn't that long a go that we were told your wife was expecting.

Yeah, watching a kid go from conceptual to concrete and then morph into a unique consciousness is...indescribable.

She's a great kid. I'm biased, sure, but I don't know many 2 year olds who can chill in a canoe for 4-5 hours. She helps cook pancakes, washes dishes, and asks me how my day went when I pick her up from daycare.

10/10 toddler.

Caught five chain pickerel today trying to nab my first on-the-fly bowfin. Bowfin and redfish are my two big targets this year, along with the elusive Blue-Spotted Sunfish that will complete my FFI Gulf Coast Council Suncatch Challenge. Pretty sure the dang red is going to be the easiest fish to scratch off the list.
 
I’ve been on the water quite a few times since January 1, but it was duck hunting not fishing. I made a quick trip to a local creek the other afternoon after work. I landed 3 of these from a few spots in a short walk. It was a great afternoon after a hard day at work.

Been on a quest to catch a bowfin on the fly. Can't quite make it happen. Been catching too many pesky bass.

Been really getting into streamer fishing this spring too. Tying lots of deceivers, clousers, and Dedeaux's Fat Babies. Picked up a Lamson Remix with 2 extra spools and have an intermediate tip on one and am trying to decide what I'm buying for my next spool. Torn between a sink tip 3 or 6 or going full retard with a full sink 6. Also have a batch of materials to tie up some weedless Snake Charmer topwater bugs to work through the delta slop for bass, reds, and bowfin.
 
I went camping at the beach at Assateague Island this past weekend. Surf Fishing wasn't the main goal but I got some in and caught a few small fish in the surf, mainly spot(attempted to turn a few into bait with no luck) and a few weakfish.

Had to take the boat to the shop Saturday but went to a little spot where an outflow pipe dumps in the river next to a lock. There green ones and white ones in there. Caught 15+ in a couple hours. First fishing I’ve done this year.
