Okay, it appears we have a location, GOODWILL HILL SPORTSMANS out of burgettstown. Very close to starlake.
I have yet to 100% lock this down but it's looking very good.
Now, let's get a plan together!
Would guys be willing to make food, bring drinks, plates, and so on.
This year I'm hoping to have some guys that are interested in but dont have a saddle yet! Time will tell! Let's hear some ideas, again this is going to be no alcohol during the meet, as we want to keep it free for attendees.. otherwise I'd have to get event insurance....
I am planning to be there (schedule allowing) and have zero saddle experience..... Having people bring something to share seems perfectly reasonable, it may work better if somebody is keeping track of who is bringing what so we don't have 20 people show up with packs of paper plates :confused2:.

Just let me know what you need. Is there a place to grill ? Or do you want to keep it simple?

Awesome. If there is a date and time please post. I can definitely bring something to munch or drink (alcohol free) for fellow saddlehunters.

I’m in eastern Ohio I may be interested in coming to this to check out some different gear. Currently have a flex size 2, bolts, lone wolf assassin waiting on mystery ranch pop up 18 backpack.

Okay so we don't have the date settled quite yet, but should be the toward the end of March. The Goodwill Hill Sportmans is the club I belong to and offered up for us to meet there. I ran it by our president and he was very supportive. The club house would be open to us for use. Full kitchen, male and female bathrooms and showers if needed. There is also a bunkhouse with bunk beds and a bathroom that is I think $10 a night to stay in if interested, or you could tent camp somewhere on the grounds if interested. Outdoors we have a very large pavilion with electric, grill, and fire pit. Hopefully we will have our 3d course up by then, but if not I'll put out some targets so we can shoot. We have bag targets at 20 and 30, and a large round foam that we could shoot from any distance. If some guys wanted to bring a target that might be helpful. I'll be bringing my bag from home just so we have some more target surfaces. We also have rifle, and pistol ranges and 3 lakes if guys want to shoot or fish during the time they are there too. Any other questions about the grounds or rules of the club or anything let me know.

I also don't currently have a saddle yet, but may by the time the meetup comes. I haven't tried saddle hunting yet, but I have been using a rock climbing harness to hang and hunt with the past 3 years so I can see how great this style of hunting can be. Just have to get the more correct gear lined up. Looking forward to meeting a bunch of you and seeing first hand how various styles of climbing and hanging work out.

Also if anybody shoots flintlock, we are having our annual flintlock shoot the last Saturday in Feb. Usually 15-18 steel targets, patched round ball only. If I remember right I think $10-15 covers the shoot and the wild game dinner and drinks afterward. If anyone wants to attend, let me know and I'll get you directions and further details

All right yall, it looks like we have a date and a place! It will be 21 March, at the Goodwill Hill Sportmans club. I'll post up the address asap. This looks to be a great place and we look to have a great turn out this year!
If you guys could fill out this question form so I get it a little more organized, I'd appreciate it!

If anyone has any questions please let me know!

The club really doesn't have a street address as our mailing address is a PO box in the city our treasure resides in, but it is a few minutes away from Pepsi Cola Roadhouse on Log Cabin Road. If you google map it you should see Log Cabin Road and then Goodwill Hill Road. If you need other further directions feel free to contact me as well. After talking with the club the 3d course will probably not be up by then, so if you'd like to bring a target feel free, but we'll have a handful of bag targets to shoot. The club is family friendly as well, there a two playsets, and many other things to do for those that might want to bring children. I'll will be headed out there on Friday and will be staying there overnight into Saturday, so if anybody wants to arrive early and check the place out on Friday that would be fine. We can start at whatever time people show up on Saturday, if your coming early enough for breakfast let me know I'll start the coffee and griddle. I make a pretty good french toast. Any other questions I can answer my contact is archybiker@yahoo.com, PM me here or call or text 724-462-9802. My name is Ryan Lasko.
