So I’m jumping in on fletching my own arrows. My plan is to mess around with a 4 fletch. However due to possible cable clearance issues I planned on having my nock “face up” between 2 fletchings.

I am supposed to receive my jig on Tuesday so I haven’t gotten my hands on one yet to try and figure this out.

is there a way to do this or will it just be fletch them and turn nock to position I want it in? Mind you these are all nock-tuned as well which complicates the placement of vanes.

Any advice is appreciated!

I ended up making a mark on the jig just above where the nock goes it that I line my top of the arrow mark. For me it was just a little right of my nock for the top fletch so I have to rotate until the marks I make line up then everything ends up spot on. You can put a fletching in the jig and look down the arrow while seated in the jig, with no glue yet, and get a rough idea as well.
I’m interested if anyone else has some trick or secret.

Yeah I’ve seen that on one YouTube video. Turning the arrow while the nock is seated into the jig. Hoping someone more handy than I will have a trick up their sleeve.

I should also mention I’m looking to do the 90/90 fletch, not 105/75.

I'm looking at my bitz and don't see a way to change this. But, since you haven't fletched arrows yet, just change to a fletch with a lower profile. .5" fletches oriented like you'd like would net you about 1/8" clearance. If you're using lower profile than a blazer, and are still encountering clearance issues, something might be up.

Bow/Rest setup?

Now I'm curious...

2008, bowtech 82nd airborne QAD HDX rest, I’m not sure if there actually will be a clearance issue, I was just anticipating incase. I plan on using q2i fusion x-ii vanes, those are low profile I believe

I fletched 4 on mine. I noc tuned, and fletched. When I first did it, I had my old rip cord drop away rest on. Which had lots of room. I decided to put the QAD back on which does not leave much room on top so I rotated my nocs slightly to make sure I clear the rest. I only fletched 4 this way. But when I do the others I have, I plan to noc tune them, rotate it back the 45 deg I think, and then fletch them, and then turn the noc back. The 4 I did still seem to shoot well. I haven't run them through paper yet. But there all consistent. If I find one off, I will just try the other 3 spots to see if will work. If not just peel it off and re do it.

Yeah that was going to be my plan, find out that 45 degree and mark on jig, fletch then turn nock back when done

That's why you need to get zinger fletches. No longer need to worry about how you glue the fletches on as you can rotate the zingers any old way. I have no affiliation but they work great for new arrow builds like this. Many say it doesn't matter to nock tune with fletching now but I still do it anyway. So tune with fletching first to get close then bare shaft tune.

Zenith archery makes a bitzenburger upgrade kit. With this kit you fletch with the knock out. I bare shaft and mark my alignment. I slid a arrow in and rotated the mark till it was where I wanted and just put a sharpie line on. Leave the knob locked in when you are turning the arrow for alignment. I just pull the nock after tune, match the mark and fletch.

Seems like you can do that with the regular bitz, you’d just rotate with nock in, then re-aligned nock tune afterwards? Right?

I mainly purchased it because the jig directly mounts into the bore of the shaft. No relying on a nock fitting in or running concentric to the shaft. Plus there is a new front guide to change angles a bit more. It’s a cheap upgrade.
