5.5mm / 6mm eye-to-eye hitch cords

20in length is cutting it a tad close. A bit difficult to tie with the stiffness of the splice and the shrink-wrap. I do like my tails pretty short though.
I typically prefer this schwabisch.

Real short legs are possible if hitch is tied like the red one, Robline’s Excel Elite, plus the stopper helps with tending. The blue hitch cord is New England Rope’s Poly Tec, both 6mm, dyneema cores and Technora-polyester covers. The Poly Tec’s cover allows the cover to be buried and with extra slack the splice near the eye stays flexible, and is a little over 17” in length.

@Brocky do you have a link for the blue one? I couldn't find it "on the line".

EDIT: I meant I couldn't find them with the pre-sewn eyes like you show!

How many dozen should I put you down for? It is fairly complicated to do because of small diameter, short length, and covered eyes, but made possible by the expandable cover.

I just received mine in the mail today. When they say 20 inches do they mean overall length? Mine is only 19 inches overall length. I can't get 4 wraps with it.

loop it over a carabiner and attach it to another and clip to bridge and sit and see if it stretches?

I use 5 wraps on a distel and that's why I'm not getting one of these shorties. I'll tie knots for now. I'd like to see it long enough to tie 5 wraps with minimal left over, and would still work for 4 wrappers.

I never measured mine.

Edit... it stretches, but not out to 20in

Looks like only 11” of useable cord to tie a hitch, trimming some of the shrink wrap back might give another inch, but probably still not enough. Wondering if it would be long enough if it was the advertised 20”?
Edit: looked at pictures above and saw it is possible.

@JoyRyd, here’s the hitch cord, it’s the Technora core from Bailout that remains flexible after splicing, it will need to be connected somehow on the saddle loop, the blue grommet in the picture. The orange cord is a way to use just a piece of cord for a compact adjuster.

Yes, I tie the first and test it, when good to go I tie the second one.

On the orange one the hitch is tied first and only has two wraps around the loop, if more wraps are wanted then start with a Prusik on the loop and then tie the hitch. Any stopper can be used, the two overhands are convenient for me when frequenting tying when testing.

@Brocky I hung from both of these today and with both cords if I broke them loose to adjust them down the rope they would not re-engage... they slid down the rope. Just a warning for anyone trying this. I suppose I could of done something wrong. I'm definitely no expert, but thought I would put that out there as a warning. Not sure if you have tried what I did.
If you reset it, so to speak, it will lock in like it should.

I just tried it with TRC and a couple others, and had it grabbed each time with no slippage, I even hung on it and it grabbed after descending a little. For some reason the wraps aren’t getting the load after they have been compressed for you. Did you happen to try hand tending it and then weighting it, wonder if it would grab after?

First suggestion is to add another wrap, but when it’s somewhat borderline on functioning, that usually means too much friction. Maybe try twisting both ends about 180 degrees after they pass through the bridge coming from the top, and then tie to carabiner. We are all in trouble if it takes an expert to operate hitches!
