If you shoot .500 spine arrows, I would like to know a few different things.

1) What pound bow are you shooting?
2) Your draw length?
3) Arrow length?
4) Tip weight?

DaySix HD 500
Carbon to carbon 27 5/8”
150 grain ethics insert/outsert
200 grain broadhead.
TAW 590 grains
Bow, Java man Helms deep triple carbon recurve.
54#@26”

I shoot 500 spine out of a 50lbs. at my DL Bear Kodiak magnum, I have a 28in. DL and my arrow length is 30”. I tip the arrow with a 165 grain Zwickey. This setup shoots great for me but I really want to beef my arrow weight up. I have yet to put one through a deer yet, but feel like it’s on the light side. I’m a newbie to the trad world, so hopefully some pros will weigh in on this thread.

1) 42#@28" (44.5#@29")
2) 29"
3) 29.5"
4) 50 grain brass insert and 200 grain tip weight

500 30" G.T. XT Hunter with 100 grain insert 250grain point 610 grains total weight 23.5% F.O.C. arrow wrap 3 - 4" feathers
VPA 250 grain 2 blade broadhead.
45 lb. @ 28.5" D/L
Mountain Muffler string w/2 string silencers
DAS recurve off the shelf
I shoot with a Scott LiL' Goose release, my setup is different than if you were to use fingers.

42lbs: BE Instinct 500's, 29.25", 100gr insert, 125gr head. Second arrow: 29" Easton Axis 500, 100gr brass Hit insert, 125gr head.

51 pounds @ 28, Easton axis trads .500 cut to 28 3/4 inches, 75 grain hit, 150 grain Magnus stinger, brings me to about 505 grain.... some would say that’s pretty lightweight these days.

.500 Gold tip Traditionals, full length or 32"
Standard inserts, 125 gr points.
17" Das Dalaa, long 34# Uukha Ex 1 Evo 2 limbs, pulling 43#@30.5". Total arrow weight 460 gr.

Flipper/ plunger, bare shaft flight is impeccable. Wish the shooter was, lol.

Best arrows for my Red Wing Hunter, 58" 49# at 26.5 DL, are

Black Eagle Instinct 500s at 27" with 100gn outserts and 150 gn Kudus.

They are veritable darts.

BigJimThunderchild - 56 inches & 50# at 28 draw.
Tried stock length (32 inch) XX75 2016 with standard insert and (125 gr. point), as expected weak spine.
Victory Carbon Trad 450 stock length (31.5 inch) with 80 gr. insert and 125 gr. point, close but little weak still.
Next up full length 400 spine (thinking .166 micro diameter) - TBD.
Also tried Carbon Express Heritage 350 cut to 29 inches, 10 grain insert, 225 gr. point - way stiff.

2018 easton xx75 camo hunters 30.5" on a sage 40# marked 45# pulling to 28" with 125 tips and 3x4" shield feathers

1) What pound bow are you shooting? 44lbs
2) Your draw length? 27 1/4"
3) Arrow length? 28"
4) Tip weight? 262gr

I also think a lot depends on how the riser is cut. Mine is 1/8” past center. In general more forgiving of spine
