We had to add warnings like do not eat the tide pod and do not drink the antifreeze… that tells me all I need to know about the past couple of generations
 
I think as humans God made us to desire validation and affirmation from other humans. We all need and want it to varying degrees. The difference with this younger generation is they are getting most of that through the internets as to where we got it through actual relationships with trusted friends and family. Its crazy out there right now.
 
Because this is a family friendly site, I won’t link to the article; but if you want a far more depraved and alarming account of trends in the younger generation, read “the goon squad” in the latest Harper’s magazine. Climbing 60’ up a tree using only sticks, stupid and unsafe as it is, appears positively wholesome by comparison.

Yep, anyone remember the jackass movies? My generation wasn’t much better it just wasn’t as easy to broadcast our stupidity

You, know...I had the thought of that very movie when I wrote that post. Thankfully all the stupid and irresponsible stuff my generation did was never recorded. I remember in college when phones started to have cameras they were banned from parties. You checked them at the door. You got caught with a phone or camera you were out and would not be back.
 
I used to hunt way high like that, but I found the steep angle made all of my doubles a gut shot on the far one. I also kept having nose bleeds. After a really nice buck climbed the tree next to me and laughed at me before jumping out and gliding away like a flying squirrel, I just went back to 12-foot heights.
