750 million "Robo-Frankenstein" Mosquitoes

Kudzu and Japanese knotweed introduced to prevent soil erosion, Asian carp to filter pond water, trans fats to replace “harmful” saturated fats, to name a few experiments gone wrong. Yes there have been significant improvements introduced by mankind, but when we intentionally release something into the environment it’s difficult to predict the long term ramifications.

I not informed enough to say if it's good or bad but I have read these tactics being used in south American with good results....the mosquito control they use now were I live is to drive a truck around fogging some form of chemical (permethrin based if I remember correctly) off the back of the truck a couple times a month....pick ur poison.... modified skeeter or breath chemical....if I remember right .....the lab skeeter is male (doesn't bite) and designed to be sterile and die off quick after spreading a bacteria/disease to the female

We’re gonna need a bigger Thermacell.
Thermacell is a technology to kill mosquitoes just like the genetically modified mosquito. I love that poison that comes off that thermacell. Better than itchy bites. Permethrin is relatively safe for humans. A high LD 50.

Permethrin equals no ticks and no lymes.
Technology at work

Must be the same hole that swallowed my snorkel a few years ago. Not that I miss the thing.
I dove with a Croation immigrant for dozens of dives about 7 years ago and the first thing we had to do was go down 100 ft in the deep hole at Dutch. He would accept nothing else. It's dark down there.
