I know there have been threads on this before but I haven’t seen one about this specifically. I have been seeing saddle hunters using a Ropeman 1 and a sterling 8mm line with a larger carabiner such as the one attached. I’ve hunted with this carabiner for two years but with a 11mm rope and have experimented with 8mm line in the back yard without any problems. Anyone else use this combo, what are your thoughts?

I believe the Ropeman 1 only goes down to 8.9mm rope diameter so you should use that or larger diameter.

Everything is well until it goes wrong you ever heard of the Murphy's law it's not only your life that will be affected by your own actions but does that are dear to you as well it's worth it?

My ropeman 1 says 10-13mm on it. I used it on a LB with 8mm line. I would not use it on 8mm for a tether or really at all. Prefer cord for that.
