Holosun makes the HS407CO X2 with no red dot. Its just an open circle. Im thinking this would work pretty good at 8MOA on gobblers. Out at 40yds i think it would keep the head right in the circle and kind of give me an idea of what my spread is going to be. PSA has it on sale right now for $180. Tempted to get it and throw my old 3moa red dot on my carry gun. Any opinions on the open circle for turkeys?

I think it would be better than a dot. Encircle the head and neck in it…. imo would be the optimal method. When I hunted turkeys with a shotgun, for awhile I used a Bushnell Trophy 1-4x scope with the “Turkey Pro” reticle ( a duplex with a small circle around the smallest part of the duplex style reticle in the middle). It worked tremendously for me. Its parallax was permanently set at 50 yards on this particular model. As I age the minor magnification makes even more sense.
