Adding cam cleats to Sticks

Installed the cleat today, waiting on my amsteel aider from @DanO should be here Monday. Probably gonna update the rope to some oplux or C-IV. Then I will be practicing it up.

what rope is that?

I decided to just cut down a muddy stick to 16” and add EWO steps + aider. 1/4” amsteel for the rope mod and LW stand offs on back. Had to redrill step and stand off holes but everything is rock solid now. Muddys cam cleats are real simple and all metal so I figured since I had em I’d go this route

Have you had a chance to try these out? Curious to there performance compared to Harken? I only ask because sometimes even though the price makes it nice the quality isn’t always the same and I don’t want to worry about my 240lb body taking a fall from 18 ft up because of failure. Thanks in advance for any info.

I purchased them from eBay, I actually bored the cams to accommodate 1/4-20 screws, I installed 2.5” machine socket screws and lock washers. Works perfect for me one sticking

I did this to my full size hawk, 8mm rope, harken cam cleat and the button and the bolt on the bottom is for the 4 step aider

I have some old muddy pro's back from before muddy sold out several years ago. I'd like to mess with it for a one-stick, but the cam cleats seem to release whatever stock rope they have out easily without a half-hitch (which obviously isn't good for one-sticking)

Honestly I have yet to have any issues with the muddy pro I modded. I’m using unburied 1/4” Amstel as the rope and it flattens it but still no issues. Using 1/8 full bury this next year.

I think the easiest route to go is a muddy pro - cut it down, drill correct holes for DanO standoffs and double steps and get to rocking
