Adjustable Bridge Hitches

What hitches are ya'll running on your bridges. I'm currently running a schwabisch, but it's getting worn and tighter to adjust. I have a new 6mm eye to eye prusik that i'm looking to replace the schwabisch and trying to find a better hitch to switch to (using an eye to eye cord). Wait a second, just found a prusik loop that I can use as well, but it looks like its 17" or 19" long. Anyway, give me some ideas.

Also, I don't have any extra 6mm cord ATM for my 8mm bridge.

Let me add that my bridge is openable and looking for something compact and easily adjustable.

Be careful with a hitch that easily loosens under load. It will lengthen your bridge if you rotate it into your carabiner and you'll probably want clean britches the first time that happens. Lol

Does openable mean you have a carabiner on the end , instead of a large loop? If yes, a double eye hitch cord would need a carabiner also, leaving no possibility to maintain a position on the loops, like wraps would provide.

Yes has a carabiner.

I'm using a Longhorn Agile Hitch, to make my bridge adjustable. It takes some time to tie/install, but it works great. :)
9mm rope for the main bridge and 6mm cord for the LHA Hitch.

Does anyone use a Kong Duck or Ropeman on their bridge for adjustment?seems like it would be nice and quick

I use a ropeman on my lineman's rope which I then insert as my adjustable bridge once at height. I guess that makes my answer a yes.

Any of you old cats still rocking whoopie sling bridges?

Ooooh! That is an interesting idea that I never thought of! Two birds with one stone!

Always learning something from you all. Thanks!

I personally like tying the soft stitch hitch to a small load bearing carabiner, it works so smooth and can be used as a linesman rope and a tether. Being using it for a couple years and can’t see how it could be any easier operation. Also this hitch is so compact it never gets in the way of turning while hooked as a tether.

I’ve tried a lot of set ups on bridges.adjustable and fixed.
I settled on two pieces of Predator that I just tie a scaffold knot on each end and add two carabiners. I find this setup to be very versatile. I can take it off if I want or retie the scaffold in a second to adjust to whatever length I need. I’ve settled on one length that allows me to SRT or one stick and still be comfortable at height. With two pieces of rope I can add a second bridge if needed or whatever. Simple to me is best.

I was going to try and set mine up like this. But then realized that where the bridge attaches to the loops, they will slide and not have a "fixed" position. I hesitated, just because I like the position I have found for my current bridge.

Am I overthinking this?

Personally I always seem to just like the "natural" position the bridge loops seek. Maybe I'm not right. :tearsofjoy:
