Adjustable bridge

New to this whole concept and dont own anything yet. My brother bought a tethrd phantom with the adjustable bridge. My question is, is it really needed or necessary to have that part adjustable? Seems to me once you find the length you like it then that's where you want it. Or is it something that is adjusted with different size trees or different amounts of clothing or something? Maybe a comfort fine tune every hunt? I'm starting my search and wanting to know if this is something that's worth the extra 35 bucks or so in the cruzrs case.

It really helps if you rappel. Most people (myself included) prefer a short bridge for rappelling.

I prefer an adjustable bridge, mainly because I one stick climb with the rappel rope as my tether the whole way up. It’s nice to be able to shorten the bridge on the ascent and the rappel down to put the device close to me. I also like to shorten the bridge for the walk in and out. Seems to help keep the saddle in place as a second belt.

At hunting height I have a specific length I set the bridge at and I don’t change it. So if you climb aren’t rappelling it wouldn’t be necessary.

Thanks guys. Think that answered my question. I wont be walking in with it on and wont be repelling or one stick either. Seems as though I don't need an adjustable bridge

I guess I just don’t understand why not? It would be an easy and inexpensive thing for the manufacturer to add on. My first saddle had one on it and I didn’t realize how much I missed it.

I put an adjustable bridge on my Mantis. Once I figured out where I wanted it after 2-3 sits I’ve never touched it. It’s nice to be able to change, but so far I’ve not found a reason to do so.
