Hey guys, I ordered a Backwoods Mobil gear for my Novix minis doubles. I called and ended up going with the S hook that just hooks onto your step. Anyone have any experience with these?
Seems to be an angles stick set could slip off? But then you could use hang the S Hook on the opposite side of the tube and use the tube to keep it from slipping off. Anyways just curious if I might wanna switch to a over the top standoff style. Thanks!

I'm the other way around. I have an aider for BMG that's an S-hook style for my WE steps (not using anymore) and just ordered the Novix mini doubles. I will be using the S-hook but attaching an amsteel continuous loop through the bottom step and around the post which is where I'll attach the aider.

I have the top stand off style and I never need to worry about it slipping off. The S hook to me looks like it would be less stable and has the potential to move if your foot slides to the side of tree instead of straight into the tree. The aider is definitely top quality and you feel very comfortable when climbing.

Funny because I’m doing the same thing but with Hawk minis. I’m worried about the continuous holding up. Glad to hear someone else is doing the same.

I made my continuous loop through the stand off and put it through tubular webbing to help with durability. I've had pretty good luck with amsteel but it's something that can easily be replaced after a few seasons

Here's the finished product. I went through the step and above the standoff

Yes that is the one. I put some star washers on the tree clear bolts with super glue. It did much better. So I ordered the real fix tree cleats or standoffs from ewo. They have the channel on back and cannot twist.
Is this the stick that keeps kicking out on you?
