What are you guys storing your scentlok and other hunting gear in to keep it all non human smelling? Is it as simple as ziplock bags, airtight totes, vacuum seal bags? I broke down and bought savanna aero and their fanny pack. Want to make sure I treat it right.

The last 4 years I’ve been using ziplock brand black totes from Wal-Mart. They have four blue latches (one on each side) and a seal around the rim of the lid. They also fit nicely in the trunk of any car. The white clear totes didn’t seam to seal as well, don’t know why. After 4 years, these totes are still awesome.

Now I’m using IRIS 82 quart weather tight totes found online, Walmart, Amazon etc.

These are a bit deeper and allow me to store my backpack easily inside.

You can use any airtight bag too. Like a waterproof dry bag for camping.

No vacuum bags. ZipLock makes some large gallon and 2 gallon bags that will work if your tight on a budget.

I use the large Plano 1919 (108qt) rolling tubs. I run a bead of rtv or silicone inside the lip mating surface to make it air tight. Then sprinkle some activated carbon or place activated carbon sheets on the bottom. Scentlok makes a watertight bag that's on sale right now

I also run the above Iris 82 qt tote - it is the same exact air tight hard tote that Scentlok sells for $80 - minus the carbon liner. Whether its branded Remington, Iris, etc - all the same tote. Iris is the manufacture. Super durable - I have 2 of them. Could use a couple more still lol.

You can get it at numerous places - I just got one for $29.05 out the door as an online pickup in store order from Home Depot.

I had a ziploc brand one that I liked a lot but it isn’t big enough for everything anymore

I use the giant 4 or 5 gallon ziplock bags. They come in a 4 pk at Walmart for around $6. After washing /dying I put them in immediately and press all of the air out. I shower and wear a light pair of shorts and tee and change once I park my truck. When I return I put them back in and press air out again. Been working for me and I occasionally will drop in a pine limb with a some weeds.

Target has 20 gallon Ziplock bags. I use them a lot, for things after the hunt that might be damp, that I do not want to put back in tote until dry.

I need to grab some of these, I had my clothes washed, dried, and thrown into a Tupperware bin I bought but let sit out in the sun for a week.. after 3 days in the Tupperware they smell like the container still. It’s been super frustrating.

I always wash my new totes, and if time and space allows, let them sit open in the sun for a few days to get rid of the plastic smell.

I had to move into an apartment last year and had no way of leaving things outside. So I bought a jug of activated charcoal for fish tanks at Wal-Mart and some ladies nylons. I cut up the nylons and made small bundles of charcoal and through them in with my totes and gear. I can also drop them inside my boots while they sit. I had bought a few of the those arm and hammer refrigerator baking soda boxes and dropped them in with my gear (they don’t last long before they solidify).

All of this seems cheaper than the Scentlok carbon absorber pads.

Why let your clean clothes sit in the Tupperware container in the sun for a week ? I have some big bins from Walmart that lock on the end and all I did was spray the container with Dead Down Wind let it air out and put my clothes in a Dead Down Wind zippered bag and into the container.
