Alone [don’t read this thread if you don’t want a spoiler]

It's been a while, I guess I only caught it on history channel late when it came on. I remember an episode where the guy only made like 3 days before just quitting because he lost something in the sand.

I'll have to give it another try from the beginning.

Les Stroud is the man for survival though, I'll watch just about anything he does.

Well ya got me........ binge watched the last season this weekend thx to this thread........, man that was great
Haha, I think watching the previous seasons may be the way to go.
We always watch the current season each week and can never wait for the next episode.

Glad to hear the prior seasons were good, too, but I don't know where to find them. I put it on while my GF was on the phone with her mom, but then she and I got really into it.
Listened to Joe Rogan Podcast yesterday with the last season winner (won't say name in case there are some watching) and it was a cool conversation.

I think it's on Prime, too.
We recently got some friends hooked on the show and they have been binge watching. I think they watch past seasons on Prime??

I watched on Hulu, they only had seasons 3-6 though. I think Netflix has season 1.

I used to watch Naked and Afraid until I found out it's not legit. Always said "I'd love to do clothed and afraid". I get eaten alive by bugs so no way in Heck would I do naked. Then I found Alone after it's 6th season. Hooked!! I'd love to do it!! I watched all past seasons straight from the channel (not sure if Discovery or History) website for free.

I wonder if they will allow a saddle and sticks? lol

I really liked the season where they had a partner. They dropped them off 10 miles from each other and they had to find each other. Then the survival began. Some tapped out before they found one another and were surprised when the crew showed up to take them away, cause their partner quit! I’d have beaten my partners tail end for that!

My wife and I liked it. some seasons are better than others because of the cast.

That was one of my favorite formats as well!

I forget what season it was but, there was a young lady that was absolutely thriving. She had an awesome shelter, had built a sauna, and had a stockpile of food and then just decided she was done. She said it was never about the money to her and she tapped out. Her survival skills were impressive.

Edit: Her name was Callie North and I forgot she also healed infected spider bits with a poultice.

Hope this isn't a spoiler for anyone, she was just an impressive young lady.
There was a guy like that on season 6. He was an Airman that was a SERE instructor. He had a great shelter, stockpile of lake trout and was thriving. He just said he wasn't into missing out on what his kids were doing anymore.

I miss Dual Survival... which I think much of it was scripted, but I still enjoyed it.

Definitely agree about Survivorman Les Stroud.

I thought the SERE instructor tapped out because he burnt his shelter down.
The theme I am picking up on, now starting to watch other season is one my seal buddies always told me: If you don't like yourself you won't last. Solitude allows for all the mistakes in life to creep in. I think I'd go crazy and start talking to myself, but I don't think that's what would get me to tap; nope, in my house I am notoriously terrible at starting fire. I guess I could practice LOL
It sure is a fun show

I think the guy that burnt his shelters down name was Nate. He was actually doing pretty good too. He was the one with the gill net that had a fish almost every time he went there.

Like anything in life, the mental part can be the toughest. How many times do you second guess your stand locations (until you connect) etc. especially when setting up cold on new ground. That's what is cool about this show, there are a lot of those "first decisions that count" type of things that parallel DIY saddle hunting on new ground. Probably why many on here enjoy the show.
