Yeah, my GF was like, "really, you are going to make me watch this?"
Finished season one last night with her and my 9 year old and she turns to me and says "don't you two go watching the rest of season two without me!"
She's also delusional and prego: said, "babe, you could do all that!" I obviously have the wool pulled over her eyes!
THe psychological part is what fascinates me most. I am a professor of psychology and teach neuroscience. I teach about exclusion, solitary confinement and the effects all the time. I see a theme (although how much of this is real versus produced material, I don't know) of you had better like yourself. Any regrets, any decisions you think you should've gone back one, etc... they come up. It's the same effect with journaling, honestly journaling does that and it's really therapuetic if you can make it through.
What's more interesting to me is that the ones that seem to be having fun also seem to be doing the best. Winner of season six videotaped a "fashion show" - man, we were dying. He was making light of the situation. I think that positive mentality is what makes the difference. My SEAL buddies tell me that one of the best predictors for failing out of BUD/S (beside injury) is negative attitude.
Food for thought. I have enjoyed watching, learned a few things, learned a few things I want to research more, and hope that I never find myself so deep in the chattahoochee national forest having to use any of that information and knowledge.
