Alone [don’t read this thread if you don’t want a spoiler]

Yeah, my GF was like, "really, you are going to make me watch this?"
Finished season one last night with her and my 9 year old and she turns to me and says "don't you two go watching the rest of season two without me!"
She's also delusional and prego: said, "babe, you could do all that!" I obviously have the wool pulled over her eyes!

THe psychological part is what fascinates me most. I am a professor of psychology and teach neuroscience. I teach about exclusion, solitary confinement and the effects all the time. I see a theme (although how much of this is real versus produced material, I don't know) of you had better like yourself. Any regrets, any decisions you think you should've gone back one, etc... they come up. It's the same effect with journaling, honestly journaling does that and it's really therapuetic if you can make it through.

What's more interesting to me is that the ones that seem to be having fun also seem to be doing the best. Winner of season six videotaped a "fashion show" - man, we were dying. He was making light of the situation. I think that positive mentality is what makes the difference. My SEAL buddies tell me that one of the best predictors for failing out of BUD/S (beside injury) is negative attitude.

Food for thought. I have enjoyed watching, learned a few things, learned a few things I want to research more, and hope that I never find myself so deep in the chattahoochee national forest having to use any of that information and knowledge.

Alone junkie here also, I had no idea season 7 had started, great show, question, any of you guys ever truly spent multiple days alone on a hunt deep, tent style, 4 days was the longest trip I have ever did by myself, that was about 4 miles in, it felt like a month that 4 days :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

My buddy just told for his anniversary present he is going to a survival school with last years winner out in Idaho. He is waiting to hear back if it’s this fall or next summer. We have been talking awhile about something like that. Now I have to save some $$ to join him. Lol

True grit and mental toughness, some of those people on the show have a resume like RAMBO and in 2 days there calling for a ride in tears lol, that guy last year was a beast, he dominated, it would be a genuine experience to meet him, sounds like a fun trip!

I also am an Alone junkie. The ones that are constantly busy seem to keep their minds off family, Which is usually the biggest pull to tap out. Some of the best last a couple weeks, feel like they have conquered, start thinking of family and tap.
One of the shortest stays was a black guy. I think Season 2. He landed, seen bear crap everywhere and tapped. I dont think he had even sat his bag down yet. Cant say I wouldnt do the same though.

Yeah, my favorite show. I started watching around season 3 I think. The different characters make the show. I remember one guy who was doing great, but they pulled him because he had lost foo much weight. He literally had a huge amount of smoked fish in reserves, but he was conserving them and got malnutritioned.

Yeah I’ve been watching from the 1st show. Once they went up to the million dollar prize my wife and kids were like dad, you need to do this. Don’t start missing us. You come home with that million! Lol
I told them, I think I could last until the snow came. Trying to fish in the ice! I’m out!!!

I forget what season it was but, there was a young lady that was absolutely thriving. She had an awesome shelter, had built a sauna, and had a stockpile of food and then just decided she was done. She said it was never about the money to her and she tapped out. Her survival skills were impressive.

Edit: Her name was Callie North and I forgot she also healed infected spider bits with a poultice.

Hope this isn't a spoiler for anyone, she was just an impressive young lady.
She was the most talented by far in my opinion!! She made it look so easy

I remember that episode. I don’t know why he didn’t go eat a couple pounds of fish and tell them to go away!

Agree. He looked rough though. Skin and bones. He was basically starving himself to try and be the last one. Not sure why he didnt just eat and tell them to come back in a week. Maybe they didnt think he was thinking clearly since he was lacking food intake.

I just watched season six on Netflix. Just to clarify it’s not about who can live off the land but more about who can die the slowest. Love how the guy with the moose complained about losing weight with all the moose meat. Had to be better than eating rabbit chitterlings.
