Amazon Climbing Sticks vs Hawk Heliums

I currently use hawk sticks and they get a ton of hate. I have only ever used them and don't know any better. Never had an issue with them actually like them for what I am doing. They are heavy however. I started looking for an alternative becasue of the weight and stumbled onto the cheap knockoffs on amazon. Has anyone tried these sticks? I know they aren't as good as the XOP, Thethrd or Latitudes but for someone trying to improve from the Hawks do you think it would be worth it? Or am I just asking for trouble? I attached the Amazon sticks for anyone wanting to check them out.
Thanks in advance.

The hawks are a great budget climbing stick. I’m about to buy a second set. Mine primarily get used for presets.

I don't see much difference between those and the Hawk sticks, at least not in the areas that made me ditch my Hawk sets (which I still have, just in case). They're still metal, so they make the same noise when I clink them together, and they have hard edges and corners, which I always worried about the damage they would do to me if I slipped and fell onto them.

I didn't do the math - are they that much lighter than the Hawks? I'd also question the safety of the product. I know a lot of stuff from US based companies is made in China, but at least it's a US based company, for whatever that's worth.

They are supposedly lighter but not sure how much I trust the weight specs considering the source. I assumed they weren't an upgrade but wanted to ask for sure.

I don’t mean to sound like a bad guy here or anything but hawk has a bad enough name. They’re good for some guys and not for others. But for the love of god my friend all the signs are there to steer clear of those tofu cheee Chung Chang sticks

Be watching for a sale on the XOP X2’s. Not much more money when they’re on sale and have a good track record here recently.

I wasn't trying to talk anybody in to buying them I was asking for advice. I am sticking with the hawks and keep my eyes peeled for used upgrades or sales on XOPs.
Just stick with what you have , save up & upgrade. Lighter fancier sticks don’t kill deer! We’re all gearing nuts here so the information will tend to skew that direction

Judging from the package weight listed those aren’t lighter than the Hawks. You won’t find a lighter stick than the hawks at the same price point as the hawks. I used the Hawk sticks for years, if you stack them belly to belly they are more compact and easier to pack then most sticks. I’m also not sure their failure rate is any higher than some of the high end sticks. Unless you’re willing to spend a lot of money to save a couple pounds, I’d keep using what you have.

I used heliums for years without difficulties. Yeah they aren’t light but they aren’t boat anchors either. They can be modded, appropriately, to reduce weight. Personally, I would NOT trust my life and safety to an Amazon product, even if is says fulfilled by Amazon. Amazon is riff with counterfeit products. Save a bit. Sell the heliums, whatever. Get a better quality product. Haunt the classifieds, there’ll be plenty of folks selling kit, pick yourself up some good quality used gear.
