Take a breath and let it out. Scream yell curse then compose yourself order what you need fix what’s broken. Get your stuff in and kill it on this saddle build because it’s gonna be the best you ever done. Plus as your waiting for the stuff your gonna think constantly of new designs and what can you do to improve and speed up process and what your gonna build and so on. It’s frustrating when shizzz happens so what don’t kill yah will make you such a better saddle constructing technician LOL

Tension assembly

Use summer21 code for 15% off site wide.

I picked up parts for my singer 237 and 15-91 there. Coincidentally, my upper tension on the 237 was broke and beyond repair. I recently received an upper tension assembly from them.
Man thanks for looking that up for me and leaving a link. I know they had them out there, you just saved me some time finding them. I'll get one ordered! Funny enough there assembly is about what i paid for the spring itself, lesson learned. I am glad it's a cheap fix!

All a part of it. Now you know why my saddle build posts were at the end. I hit many snags along the way. Just makes you more determined and time to think up new ideas.
Yea I figured I’d post all my shortcomings so others wanting to start a project like this would know it comes with the territory and not to get discouraged. I try to be meticulous but I seem to always miss something like the drings being on backwards.

gcr0003 it is a marathon, not a sprint. Take a deep breath and internalize the fact that it is only June, and you are way ahead of the curve. You will overcome and create an awesome saddle. It is a fait accompli.

We all are rooting for you and will be there to celebrate your success.

For me, sometimes i get so wound around the axle that I cannot see the forest from the trees. And it never goes well when I allow the panic of perceived urgency overtake the goal of a quality outcome. Inevitably, when I step back and gain perspective, i am able to focus on my goals.

Relax, breathe, you got this!!!

What are you using for a buckle for a dog collar? Dog collar I have is pretty worn. I have a bunch of webbing. Figure I might as well make one.

gear aid from any sports store for a buckle. I like to use the cobra buckles with the built in d rings - but I’m excessive lol

Model GCR0003. Just start sewing. I have never seen a photographer from GQ magazine out in the woods taking photos of a hunter and his gear.

When I bought my webbing I bought their (countrybrookdesign) dog collar kit and multiple webbing patterns. I made like three collars for my dog. My stitches were a little sloppy but the collars were overall extremely easy to make.

Thanks. I’ve ordered enough from countrybrook. I’m sure I’ll be ordering again. I’ll have to look into this.

Well I've been waiting for the tension assembly to come in the mail for the sewing machine. I went to check on the shipping and it showed that it was delivered Monday at 5:14. Neither I nor my wife has seen it so I don't know what happened. It is a shame USPS shipping has been reduced to such poor service. I wouldn't have shipped USPS but it was the only option they had. I am really trying to be patient but I want to sew sew bad. I guess I'll need to file a report with the USPS.

Recently I have had USPS notify me that something was delivered and it did not get delivered until a day or two after. Definitely follow up on it. My son ordered something and I got the notification It was delivered. Nothing. Made a report to USPS, but nothing came of it.

This has all been within the last approximately four weeks.

I had the same issue with some window decals we ordered. Said delivered, never saw it. I called (waited 40 minutes to talk to someone) and reported that we never got it. They opened “a claim resolution investigation”. 2 weeks go by and I never even got called from anyone to ask about it. Finally the wife and I spoke to our local postal employee. She was nice enough to do a trace on it. She told us it showed delivered in their system and even wrote down the GPS coordinates of the delivery. She said it seemed it was in fact delivered to us. We checked the info from the decal manufacturer and the address was in fact correct. I googled the postal coordinates provided. Turns out it was delivered 2 properties down to a business owner who hates me because we opposed a property rezoning he applied for several years ago. He never sent my package back to the USPS or put it in my box so he broke the law but that’s a whole other story… I called USPS back about the coordinates. My case was “escalated” to consumer services. The woman sent me an email verifying that the coordinates of delivery were in fact the wrong coordinates so the package was misdelivered. She said they couldn’t get my parcel back and gave me info to file a reimbursement claim. But since it was only insured for $50 I lost $116 and they said too bad, get more insurance next time! Then to make matters worse we attached their letter of acknowledgment to our claim and they still rejected the claim so I’m going through my first appeal now. Our postal service is an absolute joke! I will never ship anything through them ever again. And I’m willing to pay a little bit more when I buy things to make sure it comes via UPS instead.

Hopefully whoever shipped it paid for extra insurance, otherwise you’re out that money and the assembly.

Well I mean it’s a $7 part with $5 shipping so it’s not the end of the world but I hate throwing money away. I bought a set of hunting clothes last year and it took like 4 months to get here. They only arrived after I filed a claim. I was lucky that the member I bought them from bought full insurance.

The part that bothers me the most is they sent an acknowledgment of misdelivery email and then rejected the claim stating it showed delivered lol
It is a wonder the government hasn’t shut down the postal service and privatized the delivery of mail.

I have had that happen it’s possibly still in truck but they scanned it delivered . I would call your local PO first. Hopefully it will be found ASAP

Well I got the new tension assembly installed and adjusted and it appears I won’t be able to use the thicker thread. It just won’t get tight enough to pull it up. Im going back to thread I started with.
