I wanted to share a quick tip on silencing the Madrock Safeguard. In addition to adding some stealth strips inside the swing plate as others have

I also noticed that there was a rattle on that same swing plate where the swivel pin is. I was trying to find a nylon washer thin enough to fit in between the swing plate and the rest of the body in my junk jar but ended up using a piece of 1/32 shock cord I had left over from a hammock project. I wrapped it twice around the pin and then tied it off. That has completely removed the rattle, plus it has the added benefit of providing some resistance on the plate as it swings so that it doesn't accidentally slam against the body.

In addition, I added a piece of Stealthstrip here to keep the lever from tapping on the body where the carabiner goes through.

So far so good - almost all of the noise eliminated for me after putting some tape on the carabiner. I didn't see any safety concerns with where I put the strips or the shock cord that hanging in a tree in the middle of the woods doesn't already provide, but if you think any of it may impede the regular function then speak up.
Hopefully this can help someone else out there!
