Tired of dragging a climber around. I was given a tree workers "saddle" to try out. Its heavy and uncomfortable. Bought a set of V steps and diy built a nader swader thing. Didnt like that too much. A friend climbs 2 tether so I tried that and couldnt get the hang of it. So I tore apart an old climber, cut it in half and made a 1 stick-platform out of it. Half aluminum and half steel, cam cleat installed and weighs under 7 lbs. New saddle should be here next week. Using a figure 8 and 8mm rope to rappel down. So far the 1 stick platform is the best for me. Hunted with it for 5 days in the mountain this year with the heavy saddle.

Welcome from another Pennsylvanian. Primarily hunt 2G and 5B

One sticking a rappelling out is really hard to beat imo particularly when trying to get further back and up in the mountains.

Another PA guy here, live in the Lehigh Valley but bought a saddle after dragging a hang on around potter county

Im just south of Carlisle. Hunt 5A 5B and west virginia. Just got my land barron lite saddle. Tried it out once in the cold.
