Any guesses on this sewing machine?

Not sure on the machine, but looks like a singer 15 clone or similar.

Did you ever get the 15-91 you ordered?

Thanks for the guess. I did get the 15-91. It’s working good. Almost done with my first project. A roll pouch. The only problem I’m having is, if I try to sew threw something really thick, like fabric folded over many times, it won’t catch the bobbin thread. I don’t know if I have to adjust something… I was just try to see how thick a material I can get threw.

As you sew thicker material, you are deflecting your needle which can cause skipped sticthes. Its possible youve reached the machines limit....however I would try a brand new needle and use the hand crank to see if it catches the bobbin thread. Id also inspect the needle bar to make sure its not bent in anyway.

If thats not I would say its a timing issue. Since its a 15-91 I can't say that as they were timed and "pinned" at the factory, which means its not adjustable.

Things I would check
1. Check your bobbin case and hook for damage.

2. Clean out your bobbin case and hook. The smallest piece of lint can become a hude headache. Put a drop of oil on the outside of your hook race before putting back together.

3. Check thread tension. You may have your upper tension too tight causing you to miss the stitch.

Let me know how you make out.

That looks like a white rotary 77

I picked up one fromFB for free (along with a singer 66). Both were marketed as unknown vintage sewing machines free, pick up today. I never fixed it up.

It is not a 15 clone. The presser feet are different. The hook is rotary and not oscillating. I don’t even know what style bobbin it uses. I put it up for free on FB and no one even asked about it.

If that machine is a white rotary 77, I would pass on it. The only reason to get that machine, as opposed to vintage class 15 machines, is if there is some sentimental value to it.

You already have a 15-91. Maybe think about more of the same, e.g., 15-90, 15 Japanese clone.

When I first started “collecting”, I felt an irrational urgency to grab up anything I thought as a deal. Looking back, being patient would have saved me some time and money.

I have a Domestic rotary 153 which is the same machine with a different badge. Bobbins are readily available. Kenmore also made a similar rotary that uses the same accessories. Its a very strong machine from the late 40's - early 50's. it is a straight stich with reverse. I love mine.

Glad you like yours. You or Jimdude or anyone on SH can come to Easton, PA area and pick up mine for free. I don’t deliver or ship. I most likely will not part with the table, as I may be able to use the table for one of my vintage kenmores. But the machine, I have no need for it.

I could not give mine away on FBMarketplace.

That said, I still think staying with model 15 singers or clones is the way to go with parts availability, donor machine availability. But hey, it is just one man’s opinion.
