Any tips for a new saddle hunter?

So this is my first year hunting from a saddle, I sat yesterday for about 3 to 4 hours for the first time. My right foot kept falling asleep while standing on my ring of steps. Does anyone have any tips on what I might be doing wrong? Thanks.

What kind of saddle? Does it have adjusters? Did you try those? Otherwise try moving your tether up or down to change your hang.

I have a large Mantis and it does have the adjusters. I didn’t mess with those b/c I had them pretty snug before climbing the tree. I was thinking it might have been my tether length. My tether was easily at head height if not a little higher. I was still able to reach everything comfortably or so I thought.

I never thought about it being my boots. I’m using an old pair of work boots that have a composite toe and tie up my ankles by a couple of inches. But now that I think about it we’re my boots were at we’re giving a little bit.

I tried several when I used a ros and I found a stiff hiking/mountaineering boot worked best. All your weight is focused on one spot and a stiff boot helps distribute the load.

I will move my prussic knot down to get in a sitting position more than a lean and it will take the pressure off of my feet.
