Anybody Jones'n for next year yet?

Friends that schedule their wedding on opening day aren't friends. Cut this person out of your life ASAP!

It's part of my wife's family that I just "acquired" lol. They've been given a final written warning for their behavior. :tearsofjoy:

If it was the opening day of gun season, I would be missing it for sure.

Yes, granted I’ll be the first to admit I haven’t been in the tree since I shot my buck in early November. Didn’t have the freezer space with a 1/4 steer coming our way to harvest another deer.

Looking forward to possibly trying a heavy arrow setup, maybe a new bow (highly doubtful), Overwatch Transformer, and hoping to do a weekend PA big woods hunt/camp.

Also real supportive wives should only plan to have babies AFTER deer season. Just saying......(not to wife)

That's already been discussed, I have stipulations Jan-March and May-August, we'll see how that works out hahaha.

We initially talked about a September wedding but I asked if I could ever miss a single anniversary if I got a draw for an out west elk tag. She thought about it for a few days and came back with no so we decided on the 2nd to last day of the year so at most I'll miss 1-2 days of late antlerless season, I figured it was a good compromise :grinning::grinning::grinning:

The fact that she even waited a few days mean she is a keeper. Mine would of laughed at my face and had a yard sale of my stuff just to prove a point.

Based on your other comments, you are a recently married man. Important to set expectations up front. You start going to these things now, you'll still be doin it 20 yrs from now. You disappoint now, she won't even ask 20 yrs from now. Keep in mind this advice won't necessarily keep you married but, it will prevent obligations during the season. Now as to whether or not you'll be able to use your legs to climb a tree, that's another matter.

Nope. I got burned out bad this year. The 2hr walk one way to my stand sites got old after doing it 30 times this season.
I got a new unbelievable job that somehow my sorry butt got. I got virtually all of November off and I'm making 20k more a year so I'm focusing all my attention on that right now

Good luck. Yes, I'm looking forward to chasing those crazy birds. When that gets done, I start obsessing about deer again.
Exactly! Looks like Thursday will be the last hoorah for deer! I will be looking for pigs through February at least a few times. I never see them til Turkey season though. Turkey season is my favorite and I’ve never killed one……should have killed several but no!
