Anyone in central MD have public lands recommendation? How have your season been?

Has anybody on here tried hunting at Susquehanna State Park? I know there are plenty of deer in there, but I know its a busy park with lots of hiking trails.
Just wondering if it's gonna be a waste of time with all the hikers?
I was interested in susquehanna as well but I've heard from a couple people poaching is a real big problem.

Not a waste of time, but yes it’s populated. Most folks stick to the trails.

Don't let the hikers discourage you. Most of the time I've found that situations like that just get the deer used to people and make them easier to pattern. Find spots overlooking the walking trails that bucks can watch with the wind blowing over their back.

I live in Towson and although I solely hunted private land this past season, I have hunted Prettyboy, Loch Raven, Liberty and Hugg Thomas in the past. Looking to add a few other public land spots to my toolbox for next year. Anybody have any experience with turkey hunting in the area that is not bow only where I can use shotgun?
