Anyone printed something cool with a 3D printer? What would you print if you had one?

Friend of mine got a 3D printer for his birthday.

Creality CR-X Pro

He's asking for stuff to print. I think just to justify to his wife why he asked for such an expensive 'tool'..... but privately he admitted to me it's a toy.

Anyway, do anyone have any examples if what they printed or what are some useful nick nacks?

All I can think of right now are some tree hooks...

Been looking at a site call thingiverse.com that has files templates for 3D printing. laughed when I saw the butt out tool.

Saw an actual ring of step template! but no way i'm trusting it haha

There is a saddle hunter thingiverse page with a link to some files you can print somewhere in the diy forum, you should do a search and see if you can find it. Our resident 3D guy escapes my mind at the moment

I would print a 3D printer then return the one bought so that I would then have a free 3D printer. Thats just me though. “YMMV”

Haha....good one.

I wonder if it is like making a scan of a scanned photo over and over with it being crappier each time.....so if you then made a printer with your 2nd printer....rinse and repeat.....after 100 generations you'd just have a lump of plastic with a cord coming out of it.

I’ve seen some 3d printed suppressors that looked awesome. Of course I would cringe every time I used it. I’ve yet to put much trust in 3d printed items but I still want one.

I have 3 highly modded ender 3's. Just pulled these off this am. Blue abs boat fender clips.

I also sell euro mount hangers and ballhead/strap mounted trail cam brackets on etsy.

Suppressors are certainly a wear item when printed, although I have heard that nylong or nylonx rimfire suppressors have a pretty long life.

3d prints can be very strong when the material and design are matched. My trail cam mounts can support my weight. PETG, 1.0 mm nozzle with 4 shells, 40% gyroid infill. I also run them a little hot for better layer adhesion. I have to clean up more stringiness due to that but the prints are truly stronger.
