Wish I’d taken more but birds starting flying. I don’t think you can see in the picture there was a wood duck out on a limb I was trying to get in the picture don’t think I did though.
Thank you it was definitely one I’ll never forget. This year was the first year I’ve ever even shot a limit of teal ever and not only that a limit on public land. The weather this year has been almost perfect for teal here around central LA and man have they been plentiful this weekend. If it wasn’t for my best friend I wouldn’t be doing it I don’t like seeing him go by himself. It is getting way too expensive and not worth it on public especially.

Glad someone got some teal this weekend! Tried a piece of public close to the house and it was dead. Out of 20 hunters we heard maybe 5 shots the whole morning. Had a small group buzz us before shooting light but other than that we didn’t see much, was sort of expecting it due to the water level though

I don’t know where you were but for us the key was waiting till about 8 or later for opening morning. This morning complete opposite in our laps 10 minutes after shooting hours. On the whole refuge today the 2 of us shot more than the other 10 people that were there. Secluded but very overlooked spot in a 30-40 acre lake.
Big trees the Amstel daisy chain made it awesome leaving it loose on the tree made it where it would move abit and would Make it sort of springy. A small pad to put on the aggressive teeth where I was sitting was the only thing I needed and it would be perfect.
