Anyone using a recon saddle?

Any reviews?

There are a lot of folks here that use them and are big fans of sling style saddles, especially the Recon from Treehopper. There is an extensive thread on the recon sling. Let me see if I can find it for ya.

Size 32 should I get a small?

I picked one up cuz I’ve never tried a sling. It’s my go to now. I got the small I’m 30-31” waist and compared to my fleece saddles I would say it’s too small and would cause hip pinch BUT since you place the sling where you want it you can totally avoid pinch. I would still probably go medium if I were you though. I’m thinking I could make either work for me.

Mark is a delight to deal with and he ships fast! I suggest flipping the plates just as @Allegheny Tom does.

Mark sent me one to try and I ended up buying it.I'm still partial to the comfort of my JX3 but the recon is by far the most comfortable saddle. There's really nothing about I'd change.

Add me to the list of happy Recon users. I bought it because of this sentence in the description, " Give it a try and if you’re not completely satisfied, ship it back for a full refund of the purchase price." I did not think it would be for me, and I was wrong.

I am one of those who can be pretty comfortable in almost any of the saddle setups. As I continually tweak my gear though I have noticed a few things. The recon works well with both a platform and a ring of steps. I have no problem adjusting the lower section so my feet can be on the outside of most trees using a ring of steps. Several of my other saddles are what I consider 'platform only' because when I spread my feet the saddle will eventually dig into my hips. This isn't on a 20 minute test sit in the back yard, but after several hours in a tree. They pretty much all feel comfortable for me in my back yard. The next thing has already been mentioned. I really like how I can move the top and bottom sections where I want. It is easy to find long-term comfort.

And this is a serious question...is there anyone else out there that can deliver a saddle to your door in as little time, and in as little cost, that is made in the USA?

When I flipped the way the webbing went through the plates it seemed crooked. I’m sure it’s me, I would love to see a close up video to make sure I’m doing it right.
