Yes always use primer, arrow wipes or acetone to clean . Or its problematic. Sweet have fun
 

For the record....I've been thru some pretty intense rain events and my feathers haven't ever looked the way his did after he wets and slicks them down. My arrows shoot the same at 20 wet or dry...
