Arsenal/EWO Solo stick

Dang you guy's I thought it was a very cool stick I would almost give up 2T/C well probably not but I did enjoy one sticking.

Not that it matters in a pragmatic way in the woods whatsoever but even the box and the plastic wrap bag it came in were all decked out. The box has a carry handle, strategic foam inside to keep the stick stationary and all the collab graphics with EWO, Staggs and Arsenal.

I didn’t realize that the platforms are a deep army green and the 45 degree chamfers on the teeth do look correct like a beast stick or whatever.

Overall It does feel light but it doesn’t look or feel cheap.

I’m not happy it’s China made at all but it is very refined looking with great attention to detail. So far QC seems to be really good.

I bought a new Staggs stealthpack. Arsenal must be making it for him now. Fancy packaging and made in China tags.

I went with the 12in size Solo Stick this time around. Went with the idea that the shorter version would shave off a little weight.

I have a 15in EWO One Stick that I have been using for a couple of years.

3” of carbon fiber tube will save you .003 oz

What size is everyone going with 12” or 15”?
I got the 12” size. Not for weight savings. I had an OG EWO 15” stick before and I liked it but I want to be able to fit it between branches when hunting branchy trees which I have a lot of where I hunt. Also, with a shorter carbon tube it will have a bit more stiffness and therefore I’m hoping slightly more long term durability.

Got my 12" solo stick in, always loved 12" one sticks and never saw a need for anything bigger. Seems very well put together just wish the platform was a smidge bigger but have only used it to hang cameras so far.

I agree with you on this, the size of the new Solo Stick could have been larger.

Coming from using an EWO Ultimate One-Stick, there is a noticeable difference in comparison.

The outer edges around the Solo Stick do not not seem to be as good as the EWO Stick is either. The space is too small to plant both of your feet on next to each other. Especially when wearing large hunting boots during cold weather season.

I would like to see Hunt Arsenal come up with another design option that would be available for us to be able to replace this small top section of the Solo Stick with a wider or larger one.

The OG design was wider and deeper. However, it looks like it got scrapped. I thought I had a pic but I can’t find it.

Those that made some climbs with the stick. How is the Amsteel holding up against the cleat? Did EWO fix the Amsteel eating?

feels like more room since it isn't angled like the ewo ultimate stick

My original rope seems the same. No type of wear from 3-4 test one-stick climbs, but that's the extent of it for me to know what I need.

Definitely not more room on the Solo Stick platform compared to the EWO platform.

The small angle on the Solo Stick platform that is next to where it touches the tree is 1 1/4.

The small angle on the EWO platform that is where it touches the tree is 3 3/8.

The angles on the Solo Stick platform are more rounded and so your feet want to try to slip when applying side pressure. Difficult to get a good foot hold because the angles are shorter and just really weird.

Not enough room for both boots on a single side when applying side pressure for difficult shot angles when needed. Your feet are trying to be positioned over the 2 points of the angles. The rounded angled sides are slippery.

The angles on the EWO platform are flat and squared off and so this allows for your feet to get a really good position and a strong foot hold. The sides are not slippery at all.

Place your EWO platform directly over top of the Solo Stick platform and you will see for yourself how much more room the EWO platform has.

This is why it would be great for Arsenal to produce a larger platform option for the Solo Stick that could replace the smaller size one with if anyone wanted to do so.
