Arsenal/EWO Solo stick

I had never used a 12” stick before. Mainly got it to see what all the hype was about. Turns out I like having the bottom step at that distance. After using both, I don’t see any compelling reason that puts the 15” stick at an advantage.

I’ve never been one to count ounces. I usually bring more stuff than I need. I put the weight pics up because it was a surprise to me using the solo. Wild how something that light can potentially get you as high as you want to hunt. It makes my bow feel like a brick.
 
I will add that when you aren’t climbing with it has a high tensile ping to the metal platform. Pulling it out of the box I immediately thought I’d have to stealth strip it… after hunting with it, I don’t hear that high pitch kinda tuning fork ping in the woods. Making moves up, moving around on it, and everything else that happens when you hunt it’s silent.
 
I camo formed and hockey taped the carbon tube, a section under the bottom platform and the g hooks of the pack n play. Now I can shake it like maracas and it makes no sound.

The teeth on this solo stick look tough! Looks like it bites good. Any trouble with knockout at all?

I have some temporary medical restrictions right now so I am presently unable to climb or do anything too strenuous but I did put it on a maple in my yard to “set” the three step aider I’m using with it. It seemed to bite well making sure the rope was horizontal and picking up slightly on the bottom of the stick while setting it.
 
I wonder if you did not like the 15" version if you could remove the bottom platform and cut the tube down to make it the 12" version or whatever you wanted. I just got the 15" in, but have not been able to climb with it yet, but I like about everything about it. I got the plush pack and two step aider, but I also have the Arsenal Maxx double aider to try as well.

I have one on order as well. How long did it take to come in? There were a couple items for mine that were on backorder.

Yep. I saw that! ;)

I am not sure I can convince my wife for me to spend anymore money on this saddle stuff for a while. If I end up cancelling with EWO (due to delayed delivery), and this one is still available, then I will snatch it up.

Sorry I didn’t realize you had ordered already. I was on the fence a couple weeks ago & have since talked myself out of it. If I was a smaller guy I think it would be a great piece of kit. But I can do other setups pretty close to that weight with what I have.. good luck

No worries! I ordered mine last week. They said 2-3 weeks. 3 weeks will be pushing my patients. Not because it's their fault. I understand supply chain issues all too well. -But because that will be when the hunting should be really picking up. I will still need to practice at least a half dozen times. So I can't wait 5-6 weeks.

My hunting situation happened at the worst time. I'll have to hunt public this year. Thus the reason for me getting into the mobile setup. -I think it was a blessing in disguise? Cause if not, I would still be close minded on the saddle hunting. Man have I missed out. Lol
 
Has anyone tried to change the camcleat to a harken yet?

It has the same hole pattern, but might be different threaded hardware, which the back end of the solo stick is threaded for whatever hardware goes with the EWO cleat. I'm sure it could be retrofit or a nut could be used on the back end... I'm not seeing the need, for me, to do that yet.
 
Nice stick, well built and grips tree well. I sold mine after a half dozen sits, was just a little too small for my size 12 boots to be comfortable spinning around. I'm sticking with my OOAL pinch point for a bigger platform.
